How to get your original post back?

avatar

Good day, Everyone!

Today I prepared another tutorial for you. Or maybe, we should call it a 'lifehack'.

Sometimes we make wrong changes to the post and publish it, but then want to get the original version back. Or just edit the post and then change the mind and again want the original version of the post back.

Situations can be different but the goal is the same: to get the original post back.

Has it ever happened to you? If not, you are a really lucky and well-concentrated person.

So what to do if you want to get the original post back? Write it again?

Ecency has a very cool tool, that is called Edit history. And that function allows you to see all changes that you made to your post.

Below I will describe how to find and how use that function.⬇️

Where is the 'Edit History' function?

You can find it in the post menu. You can go directly to the post or find it in your dashboard as it showed in the screenshot below.⬇️

How to use the 'Edit History' function?

When you click on the 'Edit History' tab you will get a pop-up window with all your edit history. On the left side of that window, you will find a list with edited versions and the exact date and time.

Each version will show what kind of changes were done. Did you add or delete a part of your post? Added content highlighted with green colour, and deleted content - with red colour.

Here are the steps you need to do:

  1. Click on the version you want to use.
  2. Copy all content from the right side.
  3. Go to the 'Edit' mode of your post.
  4. Replace all content with the copied one.
  5. Save your changes.

You can also use that tool if you want to use the post of other authors as a template. Just go to their post and open the 'Edit history'.

This just saved someone a ton of time on a post somewhere. Didn’t know this was possible on Ecency.

Underrated app though, I’ve been using it a lot more lately. Keep making this great!

It changed my world when I found out that function. It is the tool that I use pretty often. And hope it will help other users too.

Ecency develops with no stop. They listen to its users and try to make the app more comfortable, useful and at the same time simple.

Hi @ecency-star

Do you know you could have used #diy tag for this post to earn some BUIDL tokens?

In case you are not aware, read this post to know the kinds of content you could post using #diy tag.

Because most people are not aware of the potential of BUIDL token, it can be bought at very cheap price now.
