Hello Everyone,

It's a beautiful day here in the Middle Lands of England - bright, warm and sunny! Yesterday, the temperatures reached 20 degree Celcius in some parts of the UK, the warmest day of the year so far. Wonderful weather for planting seeds, especially with the lengthening days. I have some salad leaves and garlic on the windowsill and the fragrance of jasmine drifting through the house from the porch. Beautiful!

March No-Buy Month

That's Week Three of the No-Buy Month past. We had St Patrick's Day this week and my well-being club celebrated with a raffle for all the vegetables and seasonings for Irish Stew. I'm glad I kept my discretionary grocery budget because I spent £1 on a raffle ticket and won! And then I spent £9 on diced lamb to go with the vegetables.

I went to a local butcher, one where they still have a butcher's block in the shop and will prepare your meat to order as you wait in the shop. Five minutes later and I came out with £9 of diced shoulder of lamb, plus the bones thrown in. Mr P has seasoned the meat and we'll be cooking it long and slow through the day for a big feast in the evening.

Here's the background to my no-buy plans, and here's @justclickindiva's latest progress report.

SPI Dividends changing to HIVE dividends Today!

Very exciting news at SPI keeps evolving and maturing - the Fund starts paying dividends in Hive from today! SPI is a growth token - everything that is invested is pooled and used to grow the SPI fund. The token started as a $13,000 fund: last week's SPI report shows a fund value of around $263,000 as it comes to the close of the third year.

From today, SPI dividends will be paid in Hive. This is good news if you want to grow your HIVE account, alongside your other savings.

SPI is a managed account and if you've seen any of the excitement about Leofinance's release of PolyCUB, you don't need to suffer from FOMO - SPI is managing the fund to ensure SPI holders benefit from PolyCUB activities. All done while you are sleeping, thank you to fund managers @silverstackeruk and @jk6276.

Building your EDS Stack - Automating EDSM purchases

Busy week this week for EDS as 338 tokens changed hands! Buy pressure has been intense with buy and sell prices hovering just over the 1 HIVE pegged value for EDS:

Screenshot (29).png

EDS is a lovely income token, it's currently paying 22.5% return and, at the moment, that return is rising and will for a couple of years. Again, if you are looking to build your HIVE account, this is a good token for you.

So how can you grow your EDS stack in the current market situation? That's easy: buy some EDS miners (EDSM) and mint your own EDS tokens. Here's how to automate your EDSM purchases and already several Saturday Savers have taken up this option.

If you are going to do this, I recommend aiming to buy 10% of an EDSM each week - that is 1 HIVE per week. In ten weeks, you will own a whole EDSM. If you want to buy more and grow your income more quickly, increase your weekly purchase to 2 or more HIVE each week. Check your weekly earnings using Hive Stats and see what you can afford. EDSMs are issued from @eds-holdings once a week on Mondays.

We had a rush on EDSMs this week, with just 209 left in the pot.

EDSM cost 10 HIVE in total and mine 2 EDS each year for 20 years - that's 40 EDS for 10 HIVE.

365 Day Savings Challenge

It's Week 12 on our savings plan and we've added 5.25 HIVE to @susie-savings wallet - we're up to 30.81 HIVE already! 🤑 These are sitting in the savings wallet for now. When last year's savings have finished powering down at the beginning of April, I'll power up the HIVE in the savings wallet so it starts benefiting from curation rewards and inflation.

EDS for Comments

We had comments from @justclickindiva, @yeckingo1, @jfang003, @bearmol, @dkid14, @ericburgoyne, @riandeuk, @tokutaro22, @youyowi, @phoenixwren and @forsakensushi Everyone went into the WheelofNames and we have two winners: @phoenixwren and @youyowi - hurrah! check your wallets.

Hello @bearmol. How have you been? I'm a lots better than a couple weeks ago when I was under the weather big time. Senior citizens are a bit slow to recover, though. I hate being ill because it affects my motivation to publish daily. I want to participate in various projects, so I need to publish more in order to earn more rewards while still trying to save Hive/HBD.

I'll review your progress reports.

Take care, and have a good start to your week.

Hello @justclickindiva,
Sorry to hear that you were not well but I’m glad you are felling a lot better than before. We understand that our health takes precedence over posting content on Hive so don't worry too much about that part. Praying for more days of wellness as spring approaches.

Have a great week.

Congrats to the winners of EDS and great to see some more info on both SPI and EDS(M)

mine 2 EDS each year for 20 years

What happens with the edsm after 20 years?! 😱

100k of EDS have been crystallised against the EDSMs over 20 years.
Holders will have mined 40 EDS for 10 HIVE.
EDS will be paying HIVE.

Yeah, I understand the EDSM>EDS>hive part, was just under the impression it would take ~50 year to mint all EDS and it would be more than x4 value.

Don't get me wrong I still really like the concept and being able to stake the EDSM and auto-compound it. But considering it will be obsolete after 20 years so probably losing all value it might be more interesting to buy more EDS instead of miners.. food for thought I guess!

Sales for EDSM have been slow, although we're seeing some interest now; @eddie-earner has announced it will be releasing a second miner once these are sold, and further EDS will be crystallised against them. Maybe the two will continue beyond twenty years, that hasn't been decided yet. I'm not sure where the impression that EDSM would continue mining until all EDS were released came from: the original proposition was 10 EDS over five years.

Hmmm interesting, I've read back quite some posts on the introduction but don't recall the 10 EDS in 5 years bit.. it only mentioned getting EDS as long as the miners are staked, which seemed odd as EDS has a max. supply and someone mentioned this would take about 50 years to reach.

Having 1 EDSM produce EDS for 5 years (~10 in total) doesn't make a lot of sense? Since it would be better to buy the 10 EDS for the same cost and start immediately getting rewarded in hive instead? Only real benefit would be getting lucky in the draw or when not all of them are staked?

March No-Buy Month is going well, and I think I want to extend it to April for motivation.

I need to do the post with the power up, that is true.

You have the choice now to either keep the Hive or buy more SPI 😍

Easier when things are done by themselves and less risk of spending HIVE on something else...😁

Agree with that, like one of the posts mentioned: automating savings is the best way to build for the future. However, this is the more flexible approach. Who knows staking could make both options possible in the future, similar to the cublife setup :-)

I added an extra 50 HBD to my savings this week and it's nice to see SPI changing to a Hive dividend model. I guess this means, I won't see the completely passive approach anymore though.

Awesome to be able to add an extra 50 HBD to your savings. I plan to do something similar maybe next month.

Hello @eddie-earner and @shanibeer. Last week was a busy one again. Plus it being Spring Break, my granddaughter was babysitting me!

Here's my Week 12 progress report for the Saturday Savers Club:

https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@justclickindiva/week-12--venturing-into-polycub-or-2022-saturday-savers-club

When you say that:

"SPI is managing the fund to ensure SPI holders benefit from PolyCUB activities"

Do you recommend increasing our SPI holdings?

Next, I'm doing really good with my March No-Buy. It's Day 20, and I've only purchased 5 take out meals, totaling $150. That's less than half my previous monthly budget. I'm taking advantage of frozen items to cook. For lunch today, I thawed a beef patty and created a patty melt (with onions/peppers); added fresh carrots and a slice of garlic bread. Yum, yum.

Also, congratulations to @phoenixwren and @youyowi for winning in the Wheel of Names.

I'm eagerly waiting to see how much my automated EDSM purchase will be. I was thinking yesterday I wanted to increase my transfer from $.15 to $.30/day. I'll make that decision once I see how much I'll receive.

Have a good rest of your day and good start to your week everyone. Take care.

Great to hear March no-buy is going well for you, the savings in your takeout budget are amazing. I try to at least have water with me when I go out, that is saving me many pennies.

Ah, so lovely to have grandchildren babysitting you 😍

Thank you for sharing your post!

Hey, thank you so much for the EDS! :D

BTW, my goals in the table should really read music keyboard/200 EDS, since I am spending funds as I need them rather than making a pot of a certain amount, and putting everything not needed to survive into the pot for the keyboard (and beyond, if I earn that much money, it will become a savings account, but that's dependent on me earning enough to do that).

I am currently at 138.28 EDS so that's coming along swimmingly. We'll see how much I am able to put into HBD savings at the end of the month, though. I did just buy one of the fundraiser NFTs for Ukrainian mutual aid too. :)

Onward! !BEER

This week I managed to be above my average goal. I already have 463 HP and it should be at 462 HP. That gives me confidence to achieve my final goal.
I was able to add 10 HBD to the JackPot of my Leoball draw and I am very happy with how it is progressing.
