More about EDS tokens
EDS tokens are a low-risk income token, ideal for people who want to save. There were only 20,000 originally and they were all sold at 1 Hive each, with guaranteed earnings of 12% each year. You can now acquire EDS tokens through the EDS Miner token.
Earnings come from powering up and leasing out the Hive that came from selling the tokens, plus earnings from posts and comments each week. EDS pays out every Monday evening. Last week the pay out was equivalent to 24%.

1. Check Progress
Each week, we're going to check in through this post and see where we are up to. Our target for today, 7 August, was 15.12p. Next week, we'll be saving 15.61p and by Saturday we'll have saved 255.38p (that's 25,538p just compounding a penny a day)! 😁.
Each week, I'll be buying Hive for @susie-saver's account with the pennies we've saved.
Here's this week's results - 15.12p buys 34.44 Hive.
699 Hive saved in 28 weeks (603 Hive powered up, the remainder invested in EDS and EDSM)! Plus we're earning 3.22% inflation on powered up Hive, 24% on EDS tokens and a little on curating and posting!
@susie-saver has powered this week's savings; she's also been voting following a curation trail. She's reached her first milestones of 530HP and Minnow status. Her next goal is 1,000HP.
Actually, I forgot to power up the balance of last week's savings - I meant to do it as part of HivePUD 😂

Check what's in your Hive Engine wallet. Maybe you have some reward or air-dropped tokens that you can swap for tokens that you want to collect. This week @susie-savers sold over 5 Hive's worth of tokens and used the balance to buy some more EDS tokens. Which tokens are you collecting and why? Tell us in the comments below.

I am making decent progress on my goals this month but I have been quite busy so there has been less posts and comments. I took the chance on Hive Power Up Day to finish up the backwards challenge and now all that is left is the normal challenge.

Yes, I'm back on the regular forward saving strategy. Last week, I was a bit slow to get moving, so today I calculated and transferred all my normal daily activity in one transaction. I must say, I've been completing my daily transactions for this past 7 months that it seemed off somehow. It amazes me how in such a short time, we can fall into a routine.

Greetings fellow savers. Congratulations to this week's winners 😊. This week I've been trying to keep up with the excellence being shown by athletes from around the world the Tokyo Olympics. I'm impressed by the way many of them have supported each other even though they are rivals.
Hello @bearmol. Aren't the Olympics awesome? Doesn't matter to me who wins medals. The competitiveness and team spirit is what I like. The competitors themselves are amazing athletic individuals who strive for excellence.
I particularly felt a renewed spirit when I saw how some rallied around others, whether teammates or rivals, when it came to the issue of mental health and other personal issues. That's the true spirit of a person and not the athletic ability.

Yes @justclickindiva I was particular touched by how the young skaters supported each other even though they represented different countries.
Hello @bearmol, the Olympics have been fantastic, awe inspiring to watch. So pleased they were able to go ahead. A wonderful experience for athletes too.
I'm happy they went ahead with it too. I'm watching the closing ceremony while typing this response. Time flies
For me it is excellent to have a group that encourages you to save, it is always good to have money saved, you never know when an emergency will appear.
This week my daughter @fabianar25 and I have saved 0.28 in our first week.

I love reading about @susie-saver. She's a shining example of a disciplined saver and investor.

Great, thanks for the eds the stack is slowly building. Noticing I'm getting more from the miner now too. Luck or maybe there's less of them staked?
Actually had a question about that, are your mining rewards calculated for every whole edsm token you have staked or can you stake fractions and still increase your mining odds?
Hello @riandeuk. Good to her your EDS is building nicely. I also notice that I'm receiving more often from the miner. I plan to acquire additional miners later this month.
That's a good question about whole vs. fractional stake and how it affects earnings. Look forward to hearing the answer.

Same here, knowing that even buying small fractions every now and then helps I think I'll start to buy a bit weekly and build it up from there.
The mining rewards seem to have accelerated don't they? I'm not sure why that is happening. I'm enjoying it anyway 😁.
Everything that is staked, including fractions, works towards your mining rewards.
Me too, anywhere you can look up how many are staked at the moment? Hive explorer doesn't give too much stats.

Welcome @carmenm20 and @fabianar25 to the Saturday Savers Club. We've spoken before about the value of engaging with others who are of a like mind. Here, everyone is helpful in answering your questions or can point you in the right direction. Read the post above thoroughly because it contains some useful information.
Your power ups to grow your account is a good start to your increased rewards. My advice to you is to please take it slow as @eddie-earner and @shanibeer advise. You are not in a race with anyone else. Do what you feel is right for you. If you notice in your Wallet, after Hive's Hard Fork 25, it's a good savings strategy now to increase your HBD savings and earn 10%. Read all you can from information available.
Hopefully at some future time, you'll be able to acquire some EDS Miner Tokens. Check out how the EDSM Tokens work above to earn you EDS passively. It's a good start to learning about passive income.
I also recognize that some weeks you're without internet in your country. Don't be discouraged. Not everything is under your control. Do what you can with the time available knowing you may have limited internet access.

Only 643 EDS Miner tokens left. I plan to add some to my holdings later this month. I missed the last discount, but plan to check more often going forward. My EDS is growing slowly from the EDS Miners. Current holding: 47.35
New this week: I discovered a new Token in my Wallet. DUNK is a social token by @dunksocial for basketball fans to be rewarded for their content and opinions on the sport. Although only a small amount, I intend to investigate and see what the project entails. I love sports. Football first, then basketball.
Also, I decided to trade in my old BUILD tokens for their newly issued and official Token, BUIDL. You'll notice it's a bit of a twist on the spelling. I like that they kept the name close to the project.

Yay, thank you for the EDS token! I am now up to 28 of them. Slowly trying to build up that collection. :)
Nothing exciting going on here. The air pollution has been horrendous - Denver hit #1 at some point today as the most polluted major city on Earth, apparently, and spent the rest of the day at #2. I haven't been able to open my windows all summer because of how bad it is. Even with them shut, and being inside, it's still effecting me. :/
If Hive ever moons and y'all are buying lambos, I'm going to be buying a house somewhere with clean air. 😅

That's horrible!
Here in the UK we have a Climate Minister saying, simultaneously, "There's not much time left" and "Yes, we are going to open new fossil fuel mining sites".
I live on a main road into the City - certainly noticed the difference last year during lockdown.
Oh our pols are all about that doublespeak too. Climate change, covid, they're all "believe the science" but then do actions that don't go with the science...
Locally we've got a notorious oil refinery that constantly is over its limits as far as pollution goes, and we've had a couple of "incidents" in the past couple years where something spews forth and coats the neighborhood in a Mystery Substance, and all they do is fine them a little. A pittance, to an oil company. Like that's gonna do a damn thing. Until the fines are greater than the profit, it's just saying, "do what you want and we'll make a show of repremanding you."
Our state is wholly in the pocket of oil and gas, and the fracking wells are off the charts. Add to that, wildfire smoke from the entire western US blows our way and gets stuck as soon as it comes down off the mountains, and ...yeah, our pollution sucks.

Well this week I made my goal for saving for the CL buy in, and eating tomatoes every day from the balcony garden. The grape tomatoes are growing like crazy. The larger tomatoes are coming along we hope by next week we will get our first full size tomatoes. Have a great week all

Usually I got 0.800 Hive or more 🤔
