i think, that if a user votes on a criss-post such as this, and has not already voted on the original post (and it is within original post 7 day viting window), then rewards could be added to original post. It used to be like this.
Although another option as you say is to not have voting button, i don't think this would prevent autovoting. Would need some layer 1 code changes i think.
