Sometimes ago, I read an amazing content of "SHINE YA EYE" stury by @omosefe. Nigeria as country has taught and shown me a lot, talkless Lagos city,the origin of hustle. Lagos is the place of "No Loss guarding", "No dulling" and "Shine ya eye" which means you have to be fast, smart and be observant in anything you do.

This is a picture of the three wise men called Arọ metà. It was formerly located at the boundary of Lagos. When coming into Lagos State from ogun state, berger axis to be precise. Myth says when entry to Lagos State you have to see this three wise men( ÀRÒ MẸ́TA) and pay homage to them so they can make you wise in your journey in Lagos.

Living in Lagos requires a 100% attention, lot of craziness, smartness and speed even though you are putting on suits or driving an expensive car. The street isn't smiling for anyone because so many people are out there looking for means of green pasture through different aids.

I stayed most of my life around Lagos, places like Yaba, bariga, ikeja, Abule-Egba and oshodi. I also worked with a consulting firm which took me around Lagos a lot making research on market survey, so I mostly be in market to work. I've experienced a lot that's has taught me severely. The rate of which hoodlums, pick-pocketers, street urchin (agbero) are rampant in Lagos is high. Even the nicest guy that approach you smiling is there to rob or scam you. In Lagos, shine ya eye

My shine yah eye experience.

I was staying around bariga axis, Ilaje area to be precise. Schooling in yabatech, Yaba. I had an early morning class, boarded a public transport (danfo). I went early so I can beat the Lagos traffic. I got to my bus stop (Yabatech second gate) I alighted. Then took a walk to the school gate which is just a few meters away.

These chubby fellow walk up to me, ask me to help him out with a description of a street. Which I did. He also ask if I could help him with 50naira for transport fare, I declined. And he left, just a few steps, I noticed my phone was not in my pocket any more. Then I noticed I have been picked. I tried running back. To locate the fellow, but he gone. I was so sad that very day, but I thank God I didn't lost my life.

My second experience.

This happened around computer Village, ikeja axis. A friend and I went to get a new phone then. We got to the store, paid for the phone and on our way out, the shop attendant asked us to remove the phone from the pack and keep tight to ourselves.

My friend was adamant, he didn't listen, claiming that nothing will happen. Just some minutes away from the store, this set of street urchins(agberos) just came hailing us, until they grab the package and ran, we tried chasing them but we lost them to crowd..

Lagos is a city of different people from different places who came, come and keep coming to hustle, find a means of living. Many experience of Lagos madness I've had, and it had toughened, wisen and brightened me up. There's no place like Lagos.

Lagos is Fun, Lagos is Vibe.
