Climbing the Pyramid of Fandom - Return Every Handshake!

Hello everyone!

Today I'm in-depth on Chapter 5 - Return Every Handshake!

(...) and although it may sound cliché, it's true - in business, you only get one chance to make a first impression. And in a similar way, when it comes to the people in your casual audience who are finding you for the first time, you may only get one chance to connect with and welcome them in before they leave your brand for better pastures.

So yeah first impressions are very crucial that's why it is important to have consistency in creating content, be always present in whichever platform you are creating and sharing your content, your pages like Lead Capture Pages or website pages should be captivating and presentable, your autoresponder should be fueled with consistent and valued email flow and so on.

However you decide to engage with your audience (...) make sure people always know there's another person on the other side of those interactions. Don't leave them out in the cold, no matter what.

It is important that the human factor is always present in your interactions. That's one of the reasons that creating content might seem difficult because people tend to think that you need to write with the best grammar and even use those writing templates so you can have the best post when most people just want transparency and see the real you. Just don't comment for the sake of commenting and "robotize" yourself by engaging with other people with "nice post, keep it up"!

Also, sometimes is difficult not to leave some people out in the cold, especially when some approach you with the pitch or spam. I personally delete the message and move on, I prefer to save my time for people that matter.

If you follow me for a while you know that I reply to every comment in my posts. It might just be a quick comment but I do my best to not leave anyone behind.

Taking the time to reply whether publicly or privately can mean a lot to the person on the other side.

@jongolson is a good example of getting back to the person who interacts with him, from replying to his comment's posts to replying to comments live during webinars or even comments from the @ctpchat's posts, in video!

Give people that extra unexpected attention, and you're going to receive a lot of it back. (...) Be the different brand that cares about people, even if they aren't customers yet, and you'll find that you're going to stand out among the crowd like no other.

Thank you so much for reading!
See you next time!

Yes, and that is why I am forming the habit of answering all my comments everyday. It is very important to acknowledge people for taking the time to comment on our posts or other content. It might take me 3 days to get to them but I do get to them. Being there and authentic and real is what matters and sets us apart.

I couldn't say any better :)
Engagement is so rewarding in so many ways! If only people use it properly...
But it is like you say, this is one of the things that set us apart.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks, Eliana! It is a simple thing but not so easy to stay consistent. It takes some effort but it's worth it! Have a great day and week! 😀
