Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenge - Mycelic Morphoid
Hey folks 😁 Graham here.
Welcome to another Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenge. Here is the original post if you want to enter a battle yourselves.
This week we are featuring a common neutral monster called Mecil Morphoid which is a card that has not impressed me so far. The Thorns ability is the main benefit of this card and also the 1 mana cost so he could be of use in some cases.
Splinterlore
Mycelic Morphoids are in a constant state of growth and development. As part of Queen Mycelia's brood, Morphoids work to spread the growing blight on Praetoria. Infected themselves by the poison, they take root near streams and rivers, contaminating it with the blight. In turn, the waters feed them, and a second Morphoid sprouts from the original. Together, the two travel as one until they split and continue the process.
Rarity: Common
Element: Earth
Attack: Melee
Abilities: Thorns at level 3.
Let's take a closer look at the stats.
This is a 44 mana level battle with only Life and Earth Splinters allowed.
I have 6 cards in this battle against 6!
Earth vs Earth
Ruleset = Weak Magic
Magic attacks hit Armor before reducing Health. Protect, Repair, Rust are useful in this ruleset.
I am using this great Earth Splinter Summoner to gain the +1 Magic buff it provides. My strategy is simple. Fill the team with as many magic monsters as possible with a good tank upfront.
First Place: Goblin Mech
My tank for this battle will be the mighty Goblin Mech and at level 5 he has some impressive stats making him a formidable opponent.
Second Place: Prismatic energy
In second place i have an excellent magic attack monster with some great stats. With 10 health it should be able to survive long enough to do considerable damage. This will also benefit from the summoners +1 magic buff giving it 3 hit points!
Third Place: Wood Nymph
In third place we have our healer called Wood Nymph. She is here to heal Goblin Mech with the Tank Heal ability and she will also benefit from the +1 magic buff..
Fourth Place: Goblin Psychic
In fourth place we have more addition healing support for my tank with another monster who has the Tank Heal ability. This will make Goblin Mech very hard to kill.
Fifth Place: Cornealus
This crazy big eyeball is here to provide range support from the back and with the Thorns ability and Heal he is a monster to be reckoned with!
At the rear we have the featured monster Mycelic Morphoid. He is only here coz he has to be!! He can at least act as cannon fodder!
As the warriors take the field we get a look at our opponents team! There are some decent cards there but i am not too worried.
I am pretty sure of a victory as i have higher level cards in my team.
Round 1 kicks off and we see our first victim with the enemies Mycelic Slipspawn being destroyed by Wood Nymph after taking several hits due to the Taunt ability.
Round 2 begins badly with the enemies Regal Peryton monster killing my tank Goblin Mech.
This is avenged when Goblin Psychic destroys the enemies tank Unicorn Mustang.
The last round kicks off with Regal Peryton being taken out by Prismatic Energy with magic reflect and Wood Nymph delivering the killing blow!
Cornealus then makes quick work of destroying the enmies Goblin Psychic monster.
Next my Goblin Psychic steps up and wipes out Elven Mystic and Cornealus delivers the final blow to Goblin Tower ending the battle!!
This was a great battle and i would definetely use the same line up again but not with the featured card Mycelic Morphoid as he made no difference to this battle whatsoever.
Check out the Great Battle to see him in action!
If you sign up with my Referral Link and purchase the Summoner's Spellbook i will delegate you 5 cards to help you get started. At least one of these will be rare or higher.
