The Last One

I often say -
"this is the last one".
while laying in bed
binge watching a series
ignoring my desire to sleep
I say to myself -
"this is the last one"
While playing a game
like #Splinterlands
grinding for a quest
I'll look at the time and think -
"this is the last one"
as I aim down the sights
adjust the scope
test the wind
and tag my target I think -
"this is the last one"
upon flicking my bic
and watching the flame burn
lighting another cigarette
I hope for #willpower to say -
"this is the last one"
while taking bites of a loved flavor
maybe chocolate or ice cream
so hard to put down
I look at it and think -
"this is the last one"
I sift through straws
and know they break backs
feel my own wane
and under the pressure think -
"this is the last one"
one of these days
I'm sure it will happen
my limit will be reached
and I will finally agree when I say -
"this is the last one".
