It's only proper to start your running year at one of the most beautiful places I know, Logarska Valley.

On Sunday I had a one hour and a half long run before me. After some cross-country skiing as a warmup, I changed the shoes, dropped the skies and went up the valley, on snow.

Cross-country skiing tracks are hard enough to run on without leaving holes.

It was an easy run with a notable climb. Here is where I turned back, with a wonderful view of the mountain tops and the sun climbing above them.

Running on snow counts as a strength exercise too. Over two thirds of the total 13 kilometers were spent on it.

My one and only boss. You are doing well. Running on snow must have been stressful I guess

On hard snow, it's actually easy. You can't run fast though.

In deep snow or worse, in deep snow with an icy crust, it's very difficult. A proper strength training :)
