C. Ronaldo: why flip and kick your captain armband, football not a do-or-die affair

Hi guys,
Greetings.

In my opinion, I think football and every form of sports are just friendly competition and should be seen as such. Situations where people begin to display angry reactions to outcome of games should be condemned in strongest terms especially when these involve players or team personnel.

I think the display of any form of angry reaction by players or team personnel is the root cause of fans violent reactions to such scenerios and must be sanctioned.

If you had followed the Portugal — Belgium game that resulted in the exit of the former from the ongoing competition, you would see when C. Ronaldo dropped and kicked off captain's armband after loss to Belgium which, of course, ultimately resulted to Portugal's Euro 2020/2021 exit.

C. Ronaldo must understand that he's a star and an important opinion leader. As such, he must not be seen to be displaying such childish behaviours. Bad elements among his supporters can capitalise on that and unlish havoc against the winning team.

Football ain't a do-or-die affair.

Thanks for your time.

It may just be a way in expressing his displeasure/frustration for not taking his team to the next stage. Been placed with the burden, he felt he let his nation down.

Don't think much importance should be placed on that as people react to loss differently. And Ronaldo is not one to take lost heartily
