Ladies of Hive Contest ~ The Greedy Tortoise

Hello ladies, it's been a while since I wrote any contest in this community but today I decided to heed this one.

Here is the first question I am going to answer, What is one of your favorite stories? It can be a book you enjoy,
or perhaps a story you were told or read as a child.

So, here is the story I read as a child which still lingers in my head toll now, The greedy tortoise.

Many stories were told to me and I read stories about the greedy tortoise but I won't forget one of them which I still think is one of the best.

In the animal kingdom, there was a famine in the land, and every animal was starving and dying but the birds of the air were lucky as they could fly far away and get food from other kingdoms.

On this day, a celebration was made for all the birds of the land, tortoise knew about the party and decided to go beg the birds to take him along. The party was suited on a high tree and the tortoise couldn't get there since he had no wings. The birds decided to help the tortoise get there, so each borrowed tortoise their wings.

They successfully arrive at the venue of the party, during the introduction time, the tortoise was asked his name he said, ladies and gentlemen, my name is Mr. Everybody. Everyone was surprised, even the birds had to ask him why he changed his name, but he told them that it was the best, so they could get enough food for themselves.

When the time came for eating, the MC stood up and said, let the food be shared with everybody. Tortoise stood up and packed all the food and began eating all of them saying the MC said the food should be shared with him since his name is Everybody.

The tortoise did not even give the food to the birds who brought him up there when the party was over, all the birds present resented him and decided to get back their wings.

Tortoise pleaded with them that they should forgive him but they refused and said he was greedy. He doesn't deserve the pity or kindness of anyone. Everyone flew home leaving him tortoise to suffer for his greed. They went back to the kingdom and told the tortoise family of the predicament.

His family decided to help him, so they brought out the foam and kept it under the tree, urging the tortoise to jump down. They did not realize that there was a big stone under the foam. When the tortoise jumped down he fell heavily upon the stone and as a result, his shell got broken.

His family tried to fix back his shell but could not fix it to become as smooth as it was and that was how tortoise good a rough shell.

I think I tried my best in this story 🤣🤣🤣, it's been a while since I wrote this kinda story but I did my best 😔.
