Be good to others, even to those who don't reciprocate your act of kindness

Greetings to my esteemed friends on the Cent community and the entire hive blockchain. It's another time to share with us things that'll help us maintain good relationship with others and the lessons I've learnt from being and relating well with others in my community. It's your friend @faquan, saying hello from this part of the world.

Like the golden rule will say, what so ever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even do to them.

Many people across the globe have been defaulters of this rule, because they only want to receive good from others and just keep doing good to themselves.

So times, many people think that doing good that's a lot from them. This is because, they think that one must have enough to himself before doing or helping others. That's not supposed to be so.

Doing good is just showing an act of kindness to other people without expecting them to repay you for such acts of kindness.

I know this one many will not agree with it. Should I just help people without expecting anything from them.

The truth is that, many people have been shocked to their bones by those they helped in the past who didn't reciprocate their act of kindness. Until you come to that point when you see doing good as a voluntary act and not an act to be repaid, then, you'll get offended when people don't reciprocate like you did to them.

I learnt that a great percentage of people who we help on a daily basis, are only grateful for the help at the point of event and don't see it as a point of duty to give back. I think you can't judge them for that because they might be wired like that.

If I may believe, you helped them as an act of kindness! If this is right please develop the mind of not expecting them to do back to you. This will reduce your enmity and give you peace of mind.

Some years back, a young man in my community was complaining that a rich man he's dad trained in school to the point of becoming a graduate and fixed in an multinational corporation, just abandoned him and his siblings to suffer. This was so painful, and has been the routine of must people who gave their all for either a friend or a friend's child.

I felt pity for that young man, but I assumed that his father must have done that as an act of kindness to his friend and like I said earlier, act of kindness are done from a freewill.

I'll say that, even if you're found in the above situation, please still do good. This is because you don't know which of the good seeds will germinate. I've also heard of a family who were helped by someone their parents did good unto.

Finally, many generations have benefited from the good of their predecessors. You never can tell which one will pay in the future.
