The Chinese have longed declared that Taiwan is part and parcel of the Chinese territory and has placed it as part of her foreign policy and it's ready to evade any external aggressors wanting to stop her taking over the island.

Just like the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and Russia's contentions over the Ukrainian region of Donbas and Mariupol in Eastern Ukraine, that's how the Chinese government is trying on a daily basis to keep the Taiwan island intact to itself.

Earlier today (May 23), the United States' President Joe Biden told the press in Tokyo (ahead of Tuesdays meeting with the Japanese Prime Minister) that the United States will defend the Taiwan island from the Chinese government and will do anything to defend the island.

Washington and allies like Japan have framed their tough response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine as a warning to others, particularly China, about the consequences of unilateral military action.Source

The Russia-Ukraine war has been an eye opener to the United States and members of NATO with likelihood that the same invasion may repeat itself in the ongoing tension between China and Taiwan. The same issue according to the US President will not repeat itself in the Taiwan island.

This statement "Flirting With Danger" have provoked the Chinese government and there was a quick response to that statement by the Chinese Foreign Minister:

Beijing on Monday said it was ready to defend its national interests over Taiwan, in a rebuke to US President Joe Biden's vow to protect the island from any invasion by China.
China's Communist Party has never controlled self-ruled Taiwan but it views the island as part of its territory and has vowed to one day seize it, by force if needed.Source

According the report from Beijing, the statement by Biden is just a mere talk because the Chinese government is ready to protect her interest in Taiwan and will do anything to defend the island.

The Chinese foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin telling reporters that "Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory".
"The Taiwan issue is a purely internal affair for China," he said. "On issues touching on China's core interests of sovereignty and territorial integrity, China has no room for compromise or concession."Source

The report also said that Beijing isn't seeing Taiwan as an outside territory, but Taiwan is part of China.

This little face-off today could be an indication that a war is looming in the Chinese region is nothing is done to resolve the issues on ground.
