LeoFinance.io Welcomes LeoThreads: It's no longer a news, it's now live - Microblogging on Hive Blockchain
Greetings to my esteemed Lions 🦁 on the LeoFinance ecosystem and the entire hive blockchain. It's another day and a time to share with us happenings around the LeoFinance ecosystem and this time it's about the most innovative platform on the hive blockchain. It's your friend @faquan, saying hello from this part of the world.
Hurray! LeoThreads is now live after 18 months of building the infrastructure. If you don't know, LeoThreads is the finished product of the anticipated ProjectBlank.
In the past many have viewed ProjectBlank to be other projects launched by the LeoTeam. I was a victim of such circumstance when PolyCUB was launched in early March. I thought PolyCUB was the ProjectBlank.
I'm so excited like other Lions 🦁 on the LeoFinance ecosystem that today being the August 4, ProjectBlank has gone live.
Everyone that have used or is still using twitter today, can tell that it's very different from other social media platforms. This is because of its microblogging nature and the ability to create short post that are relevant to the web 2 platform.
The future is in Microblogging. Look to Twitter. Look even to Tik Tok. The world of social media has moved from long-form to short-form content and it's time we learn how to adopt that move and incorporate it into the Leo Lifestyle.Source
To attain this, we need to change our perception about creating lengthy contents on the hive blockchain. It should be noted that one of the major challenge facing the Hivers is their inabilities to create long contents as required by some communities on the hive blockchain. Many Hivers just want to express themselves by writing short post and still earn some rewards in return for their efforts.
One of the maxims of equity says that time is of the essence. Going by this many people don't have all the time in the world to read through all the long posts an individual creates. I don't know but I think it's also a challenge facing Curators during Curation.
Since we on the hive blockchain is also following the trends of technology, then LeoThreads shouldn't be an issue to adopt immediately. What we need to do is to adjust from our old ways to embrace microblogging.
To be frank, this is why LeoThreads is launched to engage microblogging with a touch of crypto ($Hive) as rewards.
What is LeoThreads?
LeoThreads is microblogging on Hive. A thread is our equivalent to a "Tweet".
Now, there is also something called "Thread" on Twitter which essentially refers to a string of Tweets combined together.
On LeoThreads, a Thread = a Tweet and it also refers to multiple "Threads" strung together as replies beneath the parent.Source
With the above explanation of what LeoThreads is, one can assume that writing short post such as comments and replies that'll be strung together in form of tweets.
One of the wonders of the LeoThreads is that your comments and replies aren't just going to be presented the way you sent them, but they'll be combined together and sent like a second-level content on the hive blockchain.
LeoThreads and MAUs
Prior to the launching of LeoThreads, the number of Monthly Active Users (MAUs) have been dwindling and for the past two months it's gone below 600 in terms of post created on the LeoFinance.io interface.
In the latest @leo.stats report, @dalz showed that we had 511 MAUs who posted from the LeoFinance.io interface.
We also had 218 accounts that didn't post at all but who actively made comments throughout the month of July.Source
With the launching of LeoThreads today, this will no longer be an issue. With the injection of microblogging into the LeoFinance.io interface, more Hivers on the blockchain will participate in activities going on in the blockchain. This doesn't compulsorily mean that there'll make a post on the LeoFinance ecosystem, but with comments alone we can exceed 1k Monthly Active Users. Although focusing on 1k MAUs isn't why LeoThreads is launched, but to create the platform for over 5k MAUs.
