suffering and smiling.

Imagine to suffer and have not choice but to smile. The fact that the purchase power of the people continue to diminish everyday is a pain, the price of commodities keeps raising and the income remains the same. Many company have refuse to increase the salary of their staff and when there is a little complain about this, it either an explanation comes why it cant be increase or the staff is set packing.

One of the determinate of the price factor is the price of the crude oil product the country possess. Nigeria sells crude oil to other countries who have industrial refineries. After this product (crude oil) have gotten to this countries, it is therefore refined and Nigeria buys back its finish product.

You might wonder why a country who possesses the raw material cant build a refinery that would help it to complete the products.

In Nigeria today, the subsidies pay by the federal government on petroleum was stopped by the new elected government and this has cause a surge in the price of the petroleum product. The price of petroleum isn't the only thing the citizens are concern about, the change in price of petrol will also after the price of other commodities that has a pinch of petrol in it like transportation fare, drinks, food and many more because most of this products are preserved with generator that runs on petrol.

Removal of the subsidies might be a good idea because the money which is used to pay for subsidy will be directed into other aspect of the economy of the country but there was no proper planning on ground for it. No reserve to help relief the citizens of the burden the removal will cause.

The Nigeria National Petroleum Corperation (NNPC) have announced the change of price and the new price was higher than what it was, the price might change if the burden are too much on the citizen but what is done has been done.

There is only hope as the policy made will bring good will and help improve the economic situation of the country.
