A New Year, A New Semester of Teaching

I am excited to see my students again after Christmas break. Today's schedule for me at the Friday cooperative is:

9am: Tutor an Advanced Math student--we are about to start on sinusoids
11am: Physical Science for high school--this semester is intro to physics, my favorite science. Laws of motion, mechanics, ballistics...all the fun stuff!
12 noon: I am the "lunch lady" so pick up your trash and don't stray onto the parking lot!
Afternoon: 4th grade science is botany. Today we will learn to identify some medicinal plants and herbs.

After classes, I get to spend the weekend getting ready for the Monday cooperative: Economics class and 20th Century World History--rather grim topics for high schoolers, but I am teaching them to deal with reality. Hopefully they will pick up on my matter-of-fact attitude and understand they will be able to face whatever is out there if they hang on to what is true, good, and beautiful (no matter what the madmen around them happen to be doing or saying.)
