Camo Dress is Finished

I think Kathleen will be pleased. Thanks to my new serger, this dress went together even faster than usual!

Knits are so quick to sew. No facings, just turned-under edges. It even has pockets in the flared skirt.

That is a nice dress, sergers are awesome almost like magic how they trim and sew at the same time. Love the pattern for the deer hunting woman on the go lol :-) What fabric did you use, Cotton, poly-blend, etc...

It's a cotton knit jersey. Good for 3 out of 4 seasons here in North Carolina.

Cotton Knit is great very comfortable because it is material that breathes. I have worn some very uncomfortable synthetics that did not breath so I felt sweaty lol It is amazing the difference fabric makes in a persons daily comfort level 😃

Pockets? POCKETS? What new spore of madness is this?

Every time I have to finish of those messy edges, I wish I had an overlocker or serger.
The sewing-machines alternative just doesn't cut it

With firm fabrics I sometimes use a stitched and pinked edge or a Hong Kong finish, but for most knitwear a serger is best. I am also a fan of French seams for sheers.

The raw edges of the seams are bound with fabric binding.

I like the style of that dress! Nice job. And I even like the camo fabric. I like knits for the feel of the fabric.
