Rare Photo of Fiberfrau
You know I love a dress when I am actually willing to be photographed. My waist is thicker than the mannequin, but the dirndl still looks decent. I love German patterns because Germans are more realistic about the female body than many other cultures. German patterns acknowledge that many women have hips (I didn't give birth to 6 huge Viking warrior babies without hips!) and other curves. The dirndl, a traditional folk costume, is a perfect example of working with the curves. I used a Burda pattern for the dress and apron and an etsy download for the dirndlbluse.

Mixing colors has always been my greatest challenge with making clothes.
Look at just how you rightly placed everything in this photo, the pattern purple plain black and then plain purple.
Its really beautiful.
Color is my thing. I buy things because of color, then spread them out in my workspace until some combination "speaks" to me. The leopard print was a fragment I found in a clearance bin. Then i had the purple at home and I always have black in my workshop.
The dirndl is amazing and it looks so nice on you. You are really good at fitting garments and made this perfect for your body. I love the color combination of black and lilac - it gives the traditional a modern twist.
You are looking super cute in that
After housing 6 Vikings :D
