Windy Day Post and Classes for Spring

(Edited)

I woke up to high winds, so I want to make a daily post quickly in case we lose electrical power (lots of trees near me, and they often take out a power line.) Plenty of rain, but it has not been cold enough to turn to ice or snow (so glad.) I'm really not mentally ready for winter, since Christmas and New Year's Day were warm enough for shorts!

This week is crunch time for being ready to teach spring classes at the homeschool cooperatives. I have an economics class and am continuing a 20th century world history class on Mondays. On Tuesdays I have precalculus and statistics classes, and Fridays are for high school physical science and botany (4th grade level--I am no biologist!)

Wind is actually banging on the door now, so I will stop for now. I look forward to everyone's posts in this new year.

My list of texts for spring:

Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell
Economics in One Lesson by F.A. Hayek
A History of the Twentieth Century by Martin Gilbert (the concise edition)
Exploring Creation with Physical Science, 2nd edition
Saxon Advanced Math

Sounds like fun! I hope the winds die down soon and power stays on. I live in northeast Kansas and we had a NASTY wind storm pass through not too long ago. I think we "only" had 70 mph winds but in central Kansas they said gusts up to 100 mph. And Paradise, Kansas, lost a lot of homes and animals due to the fires. Scary stuff.

That is a really full schedule, where do you find the time? I tip my hat to teachers like you that are dedicated to education :-D

It's just one day a week--and I give them homework for the other days. Most homeschool coops work that way. I have been teaching those subjects for years, so I do very little prep because my lessons are ready.
