[MOVIE] Semur: Seytanin Kalibesi. When You Get Jealous With your Bestfriend And Allied With Devil To Ruin Her Life

I want to share about this horror movie that i just watch today, guys.

This is one of Turkey’s scariest horror movie.
The title of the movie is Semur : Seytanin Kalibesi .
This movie released in 2017.
The plot of the story went back and forth.

This movie started with the reciting of the Alquran about punishment for people who use magic.
Then we see the scene about a young woman and a wizard reciting spells for a little girl inside the picture. That picture soaked in blood and wrapped with paper and then we can see that the woman put the amulet inside a box.

In the village of Saraykoy, 1997
Omer is a father of a girl name Merve. Merve It’s a nine years old and she’s the victim of witchcraft. There is Hoca fight the witchcraft with prayers. Hoca Then asked the devil inside the little girl if the devil inside her is the leader of the sect or not, But suddenly a woman with a white Clothes and Hijab roared to Hoca and fainted with a really scary face. She’s possessed and thats when Hoca find out that the lady is the one that put a spell on Merve. That lady is Hoca’s aunt, more accurately, the sister of her mother. The devil finally answered Hoca’s questions and told his name to Hoca. He is Musabbar & he is the leader or his devil sect. Hoca forced Musabbar to get out from Merve’s body with Prayers. He finally succeed and the scene end.

20 Years Later
Merve already an adult and married to a guy named Ozan. She wake up with her friend in front of her. Her mother suddenly called to inform her that her aunt is passed away and she need to go back to her hometown to visit her. Her mother is angry at her when she said that she doesnt want to. Because her mother keep forcing her, she contacted her husband to asked him to go with her to her hometown. She’s so scared and doesn’t want to go back to her hometown because of her childhood trauma. Finally her husband arrived at home and they go to her hometown with car. At that point, her friend Ozge go back to her home with taxi. But on the way in the car, Merve got a kit of nightmare. She’s hysterical to the point that they need to cancel their plan and just go back home. Even at home and resting, Merve got a lot of harrasment wether its night or day. She just cant rest. Ozan’s cousin, Samet and his wife, Aysegul came to their house and they have an outing. But even when they’re having breakfast together outside, Merve keeps getting harassment. So they all decided to send Merve to meet a psychologist. They set an appointment as soon as possible because they thought that Merve in a really need of an urgent treatment.

Back home, she’s getting haunted again and it seems like she’s getting tied up by the devil. Then, she remembered her childhood when her grandpa teaches her to jot be scared of devil. She recited a surah in Alquran which is An - Nas and finally her body can move again. Since she’s screaming from the top of her lung, Ozan come and stay beside her until she fall asleep.

In the morning, Ozge come again to her house. When Merve saw Ozge, she’s so happy and proceed to tell Ozge about everything that happened to her. After that Merve feel better, but when they all hanging out in the living room, Merve got possessed and said that everyone will die that night. Everyone in there shocked to see Merve like that, especially her face because its so scary with her eyes all red and that. Merve even started to attackin Ozan. Because it seems like more serious, Ozan and Ozge went to find a Hoca. They need a help from a Hoca. When Ozan and Ozge went out to picking up Hoca, Merve started to terrorizing the people inside of the house. When Aysegul in the kitchen, she come and start to chanting a spell and killed Aysegul. Samet getting realky angry at Merve when he found out that his wife is died in the kitchen in such a weird situation. He took a knife from the kitchen and try to find Merve. When he hunting Merve, Merve came from behind his back and started to chanting another spell. The spell makes Samet sliced his own throat.

Not long after, Hoca, Ozan, and Ozge arrived in the house.
Hoca know immediately that the devil is Semur.
Hoca called for Semur and when Semur look at Hoca, he/she looks so scared and make Merve fainted. They tied Merve to the bed. After Merve/Semur gained the consciousness, Hoca started to questioning him. L In here Ozan and Ozge when out to buy something for the ritual, so it’s only Merve and Hoca inside of the house at the time.
Hoca asked if the devil forgotten their promised to Prophet Sulaiman.
Semur arrogantly asked who is Sulaiman, it seems like Semur pretending to forget Prophet Sulaiman and their promise to hin to not bothering human anymore.
Semur said that they didnt scared of God because they only serve and worship their devil leader, and not God.
Hoca forced himself to come inside Semur’s memory with touching Merve forehead.

In there, we can see Ozge with a wizard in a ritual space. All this time, its Ozge that sending all this witchcraft to Merve. It’s all because she gets really jealous of Merve, she fell in love with Ozan. One of the virtual process is that she needs to kill Merve’s aunt first before she can put any new witchcraft to Merve. Actually she’s the one that killed her aunt. She went to Merve’s aunt house pretending to be a nurse and made her drink pig’s blood . After that she put some amulet to Merve’s house and need to make Merve drink some pig blood which was really easy for her because she’s her best friend and have access to her house all the time. Hoca Then picking up all the amulet that hidden in Merve house. Ozge Getting cornered because Hoca took off all of her amulet and she decide to stab Hoca with a knife. Then she profess her love to Ozan and even threaten to kill him if he doesn’t want to marry her. Ozan Reject her and she tried to kill him but he is stronger so she’s the one that’s getting killed. In the end, Merve got her consciousness back and she is reuniting with Ozan.
