In this post I do the payouts of 500 ALIVE tokens, plus also ALIVEM tokens worth 500 ALIVE tokens, to eligeble participants in our weekly #AliveOnThursday staking contest, congrats to all the winners and make sure to apply for next week, enjoy!

Hi there and welcome to my blog, my name is Erik Gustafsson and I go by the handle @flaxz.

#AliveOnThursday Staking Contest - Prizes Of 500 ALIVE Tokens - Plus ALIVEM Worth 500 ALIVE Tokens

So here is the prize payout for the Alive On Thursday staking contest, the total prize sum is 1000 ALIVE tokens divided into 2 parts for the 2 groups, 500 ALIVE tokens to group 1, and ALIVEM worth 500 ALIVE tokens to group 2, which is paid out as stake to eligeble accounts according to the rules of the contest.

The goal of this contest is to encourage people to stake their ALIVE tokens, and also to increase demand for it at the same time, plus using percentage increase as the determining factor for group 1 (not group 2) is to encourage low stakeholders and newbies a bit extra.

How Does It Work?

To take part in this contest then here is how it works and what rules to follow.

  1. If you have not entered before or have less than 1k ALIVE staked then make a comment below with your username and a screenshot of your current ALIVE Power before staking, if you have a calculated starting stake you can skip the screenshot but you still need to make a comment if you have less than 1k ALIVE staked.
  2. Stake ALIVE tokens in your account and make sure to do so before next Thursday.
  3. If you have below 100 ALIVE Power you can still take part, but the calculation will use 100 AP as the minimum current stake, your increase in AP will still be the whole amount that you staked though.
  4. If you have unstaked and then take part again, your current stake will be counted as the all time high which you have had in the contest including the stake of the prize payout, and only stake that goes above that will count.
  5. I will also monitor that no unstaked ALIVE is used to get a higher reward on another account, to not reward the same staking twice.
  6. The percentage increase is what determines how much of the ALIVE rewards for group 1 that each participant gets in relation to everyone else in that group, and the amount of ALIVE tokens staked is what determines how much of the ALIVEM for group 2 that each participant gets in relation to everyone else in that group.
  7. Once all prizes are calculated I will pay out the rewards to participants as stake, ALIVE from @flaxz.alive, and ALIVEM from @youarealive.
  8. You are automatically moved from group 1 to group 2 once you have over 1k ALIVE staked as the next week starting stake while taking part in the contest.

What time does the tip bot reset?

Do you know if there's a website that gives an overview of ALL the tipping tokens? I think I'm missing on using some that I could, because I keep forgetting if I have enough and/or if I've tipped today already.
Like, login enter my accountname and see how many tokens I have of each kind, how many tips that means I can do (maybe even how many I have left), when reset is, and how much I need to hold or stake for next level if there is one.

Heh, even better would be a browser plugin that could be configured to check for me and send one or more tips of the ones I have left!

As to Alivebot it resets at midnight UTC, there is a counter in the comment that is posted each time you tip so you can see how many you have used and how many you have in total, many other bots also have that feature as well.

I have never seen a website for tipping bots, some have their own though, instructions for Alivebot is included in each post by @alive.chat, and we mention that account in each comment we leave.

There have been a few posts made by some users listing tipping bots, the most complete that I know of was made by @savvyplayer and he keeps it updated too.

A browser plugin for tipping bots sounds like a nice idea, it would require quite a bit of work to integrate each bot though as each one is running their own script and many of those are also quite different and not coded by the same people.

Thanks for the reset time and the link, @savvyplayer 's post does indeed seem to be what I needed!

I'm not sure a browser plugin would need to talk to the bots. The dev would need to talk to the bot devs though, and get the info the plugin needs - amount of tokens needed for how many tips, and the reset times. All the plugin would have to do is check how many tokens of each kind a user has, know how many tips that equals, and keep track of how many there are left, then type one of the tip commands every time it's used. Simple, if only I knew how to code 😹

The tokens for the tips comes from the bot account and not the user using the command, and it is number of tips, for Alivebot for example the bot uses a local database on the server that is hosting the bot to keep track of how many tips have been delivered, to get an outside dapp access to it then we would need to build an API for that on the server and secure the access to the API as well, right now the server can only be accessed through SSH with a key pair, so yeah it would be quite a bit of work.

Yes, I see what you mean. But I must be very bad at explaining what kind of plugin I'm looking for! 😹

I could put a number of marbles in a bowl. 10 red ones for ALIVE, a green, yellow and blue for LUV, LOLZ and PGM. All the 13 tips I can use in a day! When I want to tip someone, I pick a marble at random, type the corresponding tip command in my comment, and drop the marble into the "used" bowl. Then I pour them all back into the first bowl at midnight UTC (or whenever each one resets,) to be used again.

I want a plugin to do it for me: when I click it, it should show me how many marbles I have left, pick a marble, type the command, and put the marble away. The bots won't care if I type the command manually, copypaste it, or have it typed by a plugin - all they see is the comment with the command in it. The plugin would only need to know my username, so the first time I use it every day it can take a peek in my wallet and determine how many marbles of each colour it should start with. No access to anything but that, and a config file somewhere that tells it that ≥1000-4999 ALIVE = 10 tips, ≥5k-19999 ALIVE = 20, ≥24-47 BEER = 1 etc

It is an interesting idea, to make it work independently of the bot scripts it would need to have a backend that would stream the blockchain and read each new block that comes out just like the bots do, the nodes don't index the bot commands.

Nonono! You don't need to read the blockchain in order to type !ALIVE. Neither will the plugin need to, since it's only a digital version of my bowl of marbles. It should simply keep track of the user's personal amount of tips available, and type one of them when asked to!

This is how I envision it:

user is writing a comment and clicks the plugin

plugin compares time with timestamp from local memory

if 1st use of the day:
plugin reads the config file from somewhere on the net, containing a list of supported tokens and the amounts needed for tipping
plugin checks user's wallet to see how many tokens if each supported kind the user has
plugin calculates and writes to local memory how many tips of each kind are available to the user, plus a timestamp

plugin reads number of available tips from local memory and displays it in a popup, along with Tip! and cancel buttons

if Tip!
plugin randomly decides on one of the available tips
plugin types the corresponding command into the comment the user is currently making
plugin subtracts 1 from the correct type of tip and writes to local memory

plugin closes popup

user continues writing their comment and clicks publish

Now is where the bots take over, checking the blockchain for the tip commands and issuing the tokens. That has nothing to do with the plugin, or the user!
