Weeding, Spiders, Reseeding, First Peas, Transplants, Borer, Pantry A/C Install, Fire, Grilling - Friday
Up at the regular time yesterday and after soaking I noticed the irrigation was on and had some issues I had to deal with.
My stupid soaker hose on the strawberries is rather trashed and keeps springing leaks. I fixed it live which got me a good soaking. I have to keep my eye on it and watch for the fountain each morning.
First task for the day was to finish weeding the bean rows. I finished the 2 rows I had worked on the evening before which filled all 4 tubs. The sheep were super happy again.
With just 2 rows left to weed I was about halfway through when I looked closely at one of the lambs quarters and saw this crab spider atop the leaf.
Then on the underside of a lower leaf was this spider.
On the stem below them both was this pile of sap sucking bugs and at the base of the plant was a pile of ants. Despite them all being on the plants I still yanked them all out.
Just the large tub got filled and dumped to the sheep. Finally all the rows in the main part of the garden are weeded.
After the boys ate their lunch we went up to the melon garden so I could reseed everything. J seeded the corn in the last row then 2 rows of Marina D Chioggia squash. I seeded all the melons and soon we were back down at the farm.
I went to look for space to transplant more volunteer tomatoes and the garden herpes tomatillo plants and got sidetracked pulling weeds in the giant sunflower row.
I then got a bit sidetracked gazing at my peas. I found a couple that were large enough to pick but they are a bit better when fresh out of the fridge since they were warmed from the sunlight.
3 tomato and 2 tomatillo got dug and the transplanted in the pole garden. I have 35 tomato plants growing now so should have a pretty good harvest of them this year.
I had dill growing last year that ended up going to seed which then spread around the west end of the pole garden. I have about 10 plants popping up and a few are nice and healthy sized while the others I had to weed around to give them a chance to get big.
Then I pulled the weeds on the inside of the pole garden fence which completely takes care of it.
As I was preparing to get the fire going in the pit this borer landed on the poking stick. They are a nasty pest that has been part of what has laid waste to millions of trees in the western US.
I grabbed it and got some shots before chucking it into the fire.
With the fire going I set to work on the a/c for the pantry. First was to make another shelf for it to sit on outside as the window is a side slide. The window opening is just barely wide enough for the a/c to fit in without the side curtains on.
I ripped the guide channels off the bottom of this one too as I wasn't using the curtains and it set the unit up in the air with a big gap below it.
I cut some plywood to size on the table saw then got it all installed.
I used a couple pieces of laminate flooring as the wedges in the window track which holds the wood nice and tight. I had to add a bit of foam to block gaps but it is now plugged in and ready for use. I have to work on cleaning and organizing the pantry so I have room to roll the freeze dryer in.
A bit before 5pm I got the truck hooked up to the trailer for my grain run that I did this morning. Hoopfest has most of downtown streets blocked off so I had to make my way around them all and I went super early to avoid all the masses of people.
I then got sidetracked doing some organizing of the butcher area. I found that I am out of propane and will need to fill both cylinders before we can butcher as it is needed for the scalding pot and for the singeing.
Made syrup for the hummingbirds and set it aside to cool. It is ready to fill the feeders this morning.
I grilled beefallo burgers for dinner, topped with dairy free cheese, then toasted the buns. We watched the new episode of The Orville while we ate then I jumped in the shower before going out to soak.
I made it till about 9pm then once it was dark I got the birds herded into their huts.
I have been to town already (insane the number of homeless EVERYWHERE in downtown) and soaked this morning and have to empty the 6 barrels of grain out somewhere around the farm. I have 2 rows left to weed above the strawberries, more weeds need to be cut down again, should have some peas to pick, I have to work on cleaning the cooler, and hopefully keep working on the studio deck.

Watch out for the human traffickers at hivefest. You wont know it until its too late. STAY AWAY! Beware, traffickers can be women or men! They will act nice until they dont. There is human trafficking going on around this type of crypto. I have witnessed it. They literally have attempted my murder and are trying to kill me with V2K and RNM. Five years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, DHS, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism ..... https://ecency.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem if you run into one of them you may want to immediately shoot them in the face. 187, annihilate, asphyxiate, assassinate, behead, bleed, bludgeon, boil, bomb, bone, burn, bury, butcher, cap, casket, choke, chop, club, crucify, crush, curb, decapitate, decimate, deflesh, demolish, destroy, devein, disembowel, dismember, drown, electrocute, eliminate, end, euthanize, eviscerate, execute, explode, exterminate, extinguish, finish, fry, grind, guillotine, gut, hack, hang, hit, ice, implode, incinerate, kill, liquidate, lynch, massacre, maul, microwave, mutilate, neutralize, obliterate, off, pop, poison, punnish, quarter, ruin, shank, shock, shoot, shred, skin, slay, slaughter, smoke, smother, snipe, snuff, squish, stab, strangle, stone, suffocate, suicide, SWAT, swing, terminate, torture, terrorize, whack, waste, wreck.
