In this post I am going to show you how to make a delicious hot sauce using the molcajete.

The molcajete is a stone mortar with three short legs and is used for crushing ingredients such as garlic, chillies, salt, etc. In Mexico it is used in traditional cooking to make a great number of preparations, it is an indispensable utensil in Mexican gastronomy.

I don't think there is a Mexican home where you can't find one.

En este post te voy a enseñar hacer una deliciosa salsa picante ocupando el molcajete.

El molcajete es un mortero de piedra con tres patas cortas y sirve para machacar ingredientes como ajo, chiles , sal, etc. En México se utiliza en la cocina tradicional para hacer un sin números de preparaciones, es un utensilio indispensable en la gastronomía mexicana.

No creo que haya un hogar mexicano donde no consigas uno.

The ingredients you need are:

250gr peanuts
100 gr of sesame seeds
2 cloves of garlic
1 0 2 jalapeño peppers
1 ripe tomato
Olive or vegetable oil
Salt
1/2 cup water

Los ingredientes que necesitas son:

250gr de maní
100 gr de ajonjoli
2 dientes de ajo
1 0 2 chile jalapeño
1 tomate maduro
Aceite de oliva o vegetal
Sal
1/2 taza de agua

In a frying pan, toast the beans: peanuts, then the garlic and then the sesame seeds, in this order is what I advise you to do so that none of these ingredients are burnt, set aside.

En un sartén poner a tostar los granos: maní, luego el ajo y allí mismo el ajonjolí.en este orden es lo que te aconsejo hacerlo para que no se quemen ninguno de estos ingredientes.Reservar.

Roast the tomatoes and chillies on the cooker (put the tomatoes and chillies on the cooker or on a griddle).

Separately, in a frying pan, toast the peanuts, then the garlic and then the sesame seeds. I advise you to do it in this order so that none of these ingredients burn.

En la estufa tatemar los tomates y chiles (poner a fuego o en un comal el tomate y los chiles)

En el molcajete, ir incorporando los ingredientes de a poca cantidad e ir pisando hasta hacer una pasta suave.

Puedes ir agregando un poco de aceite y agua para que se integren mejor todos los ingredientes.

You can make this sauce more fluid by adding oil or water in the latter case if consumption is less than 3 days.
You can serve with the food of your choice.

Puedes hacer esta salsa más fluida agregando aceite o agua en este último caso si el consumo es en menos de 3 día.

Servir con la comida de tu preferencia.

I enjoyed this delicious thick sauce (almost like pasta) on bread with chorizo, lettuce and tomato.
