Party!!!!

Well it had been a while that we did go to a real party. Some friend did convince the wife that it was time to go out old-fashioned style. She didn't know that it was a party of a carnival group. They do have a fundraising event, aka party, once a year.

Sp we did convince the oldest son (14) to babysit the youngest one (10) and decided to go by bike. The party was a so called "fout feestje". I it is hard to find a decent translation for this. Maybe a poor taste party comes closest. While it is not mandatory, it is encouraged to dress more or less like the 80s or 90s. Which compared to now a rather tasteless. Once could expect music from the 80s or 90s. But then the more guilty pleasure music. The tracks which can be consider which no one loves but which everybody enjoys when it is on!

We did have some hesitation and weren't completely found on it, but we went and had a blast. While my wife dressed really the 80s style but that was a bridge to far for me. Still didn't want to go normally dressed.
So decided with a mate to go pink. And believe me it did stand out!

This has some great advantages, you always could find each other in the blink of an eye!
I did anticipated on the fact that there would be some beer consumption, so I did promise myself to drink a cola after each time I did drink 4 or 5 beers. I did end up drinking 5 colas I believe. Hard to remember but it will be around this. On Sunday I was pretty happy that decision. So, not a real #beersaturday post, but there was for sure enough beer :)

For the ones from the Belgium, euhm Flanders, the famous Sam Gooris also did a performance :)
We did go home around 3.30 a.m. and arrive home just before 4.
We will certainly do this again!
