The second day of the World Cup is behind us. And again lots of controversy. Not so much play related but no the FIFA disallowed the captain's band of some European countries. The reputation damage of the FIFA can't be overseen anymore.
It is hard to make up my mind what is the right thing to do. Probably we are expecting too much of the football players, who are just humans like us and doing their jobs.
I have been thinking if withdrawing from the competition would make a great statement. We can't expect from a national team to solve the problems in the world. Really no clue what could be a good decision.

That aside, back to the sportsbetting!

Let's start with the rags to riches challenge. 4 bets yesterday and the starting ante was 1.2 euro. First I did predict the victory of Engeland correctly (odds 1.37), followed by the correct judgement that the Netherlands would win either half (odds 1.41). To be honest this was a game which didn't deserve a winner.
The first bet on the USA vs Wales game was at least one goal in the first half. I also did expect another goal in the second half because Wales had to take more risks, giving space for the USA team. The first bet had odds of 1.52, followed by 1.34 for a goal in the second half.
So 5 bets played and 5 winners. So far, I did bank .73 euro, almost enough to get a free second run.
The average odds of the 5 bets won was 1.396.

As you can see for the first bet of today I decided to put my money that Argentina will lead at halftime!

Combo bets

No surprise that the crazy combo of yesterday with odds of 86 failed. I did had some hope after the goal of Sterling, but Janssen didn't get any changes and was substituted after 60 minutes.

For the 3 first round bets, 2 are still live. In one, I already have 3 games correct. The two remaining games are played later this week. Do need a victory for Uruguay and Germany to win the 14.726 odds ticket.
In the other one, all 5 games still have to be played. 3 of them will be played today and wins are needed from Denmark, France and Argentina.

Also did create a parlay for today, covering all 4 games. The combined odds are 11.658.
To win this one, the following has to occur:

• Denmark wins their game
• More than 2.5 goals in the Argentina - Saudi Arabia, France - Australia and Mexico - Poland games

Will be a tough one!
