A month ago, specifically on February 15th, I had the pleasure of celebrating my 23rd birthday. To be honest, most of my birthdays are nice, but quite quiet, I usually have a few friends over, very few times we go out as such. This time we did things a little different and well, I want to tell you a little about it.
Okay, mi cumpleaños número 23 comenzó con algunas sorpresas por parte de mis padres, pues ambos decidieron hacerme uno de los regalos más lindos, no tanto por el objeto en si (aunque lo amé), si no por el voto de confianza que eso conlleva. Les explico: Soy estudiante de medicina, estoy un poco más allá de la mitad de la carrera y a pesar de mucho que he logrado, en un montón de ocasiones he dudado un de mi misma, mis papás lo saben, y bajo ese precepto, decidieron regalarme mi primer tensiómetro y estetoscopio 🥺 un regalo que si bien no es de una de las marcas más reconocidas o costosas, me llegó al corazón porque me hacen entender lo mucho que creen y confían en mi y eso, es algo que a mí parecer vale demasiado, entonces obviamente comencé mi día llorando, de felicidad/amor, pero llorando🤣.
Luego de eso, mi mamá me llevo a desayunar mi comida favorita: pastelitos de queso crema y espinaca, acompañado de refresco de manzana.
Con esto me iba haciendo la idea, de lo bonito que sería mi día.
Okay, my 23rd birthday started with some surprises from my parents, as they both decided to give me one of the nicest gifts, not so much for the object itself (although I loved it), but for the vote of confidence that comes with it. Let me explain: I'm a medical student, I'm a little beyond the middle of the career and despite much that I have achieved, in a lot of occasions I have doubted a of myself, my parents know it, and under that precept, they decided to give me my first blood pressure monitor and stethoscope 🥺 a gift that although it is not one of the most recognized or expensive brands, touched my heart because they make me understand how much they believe and trust me and that, is something that in my opinion is worth too much, so obviously I started my day crying, out of happiness/love, but crying🤣. After that, my mom took me to breakfast for my favorite food: cream cheese and spinach cupcakes, accompanied by apple soda. With this I was getting the idea of how beautiful my day would be.
Luego de eso, regresamos a casa, para que pudiera arreglarme, pues tenía una "cita" con mis amigos de la universidad, yo no sabía exactamente que íbamos a hacer, pero realmente solo quería pasar el día con las personas que son importantes para mí. En fin, una vez arreglada salí directo a casa de mi amiga y al llegar me encontré con dos sorpresas: 1) todos estaban ahí, algo súper importante teniendo en cuenta que estábamos en semana difícil de exámenes 🥺 y 2) me harían una marquesa de limón desde cero, uno de mis postres favoritos, por su sabor y textura; de verdad pensaron en todo, me llenaron de detalles, nos reímos un montón y por "último", me cantaron cumpleaños para poder comernos su rica marquesa🤭, algo que pensé, sería el final de nuestra velada, pero salimos a Mcdonald's porque decidieron regalarme también un helado y papas fritas, pues saben que soy fan de estas cosas🤭
After that, we went back home, so I could get dressed up, because I had a "date" with my college friends, I didn't know exactly what we were going to do, but I really just wanted to spend the day with the people who are important to me. Anyway, once I got dressed up I went straight to my friend's house and when I got there I found two surprises: 1) everyone was there, something super important considering that we were in hard week of exams 🥺 and 2) they would make me a lemon marquise from scratch, one of my favorite desserts, for its taste and texture; they really thought of everything, they filled me with details, we laughed a lot and "finally", they sang birthday to me so we could eat their delicious marquise🤭, something that I thought would be the end of our evening, but we went out to Mcdonald's because they decided to also give me an ice cream and fries, because they know I'm a fan of these things🤭.
Al llegar a casa, mi mama y mi hermano me esperaban con una rica torta de fresa, y mis primos llegaron para terminar de completar el cuadro, junto con Fermín, mi super amigo fiel desde infancia; entonces pasamos gran parte de la noche, hablando y disfrutando. De esa forma terminó un día que pensaba que sería bastante aburrido, tranquilo y sin mucho que hacer. Pero que terminó convirtiéndose en un día precioso gracias a quienes amo.
When I got home, my mom and brother were waiting for me with a delicious strawberry cake, and my cousins arrived to complete the picture, along with Fermin, my super faithful friend since childhood; then we spent most of the night, talking and enjoying ourselves. Thus ended a day that I thought would be quite boring, quiet and without much to do. But that ended up turning into a beautiful day thanks to those I love.
Pero bueno, como las cosas buenas, tienen segunda parte, y hasta tercera🤭. El sábado siguiente a mi cumpleaños seguí recibiendo tiempo y amor por parte de mis amigos, quienes decidieron llevarme a almorzar y darme algunos regalos que realmente no estaba esperando para nada. Todo comenzó como la idea de ir a almorzar, así celebrariamos mi cumpleaños, pensé que solo sería eso y de verdad me hacía feliz porque, si no lo han notado, amo comer. En fin, solamente al montarme en el carro me esperaba un regalo gigante, que al abrir descubriría que era/es el cepillo secador de Revlon, algo que quería desde el año pasado y que decidieron obsequiarme por mi cumpleaños 🥺 (Pronto les haré un Review al respecto).
But well, like all good things, they have a second part, and even a third🤭. The Saturday after my birthday I continued to receive time and love from my friends, who decided to take me to lunch and give me some gifts that I wasn't really expecting at all. It all started as the idea of going to lunch, so we would celebrate my birthday, I thought it would be just that and it really made me happy because, if you haven't noticed, I love to eat. Anyway, only when I got in the car a giant gift was waiting for me, when I opened it I discovered that it was/is the Revlon blow dryer brush, something I wanted since last year and they decided to give me a gift for my birthday 🥺 (I'll review it soon).
Luego de mil gracias de mi parte, y muchas risas, llegamos al local donde almorzariamos, Jalula, un sitio precioso, con una vibra súper relajada que servía las hamburguesas más ricas del mundo (puede que exagere, pero ese día las amé), entre risa y juegos, terminamos nuestra comida y llegó algo que me sorprendió aún más, la tercera parte de mi regalo: Me llevaron a una tienda de maquillaje, ustedes saben cuándo amo el maquillaje, y me dejaron comprar lo que yo quisiera🥺 En ese momento casi lloré, de verdad amo los regalos y las sorpresas, pero no por lo el valor monetario, sino porque demuestra lo mucho que las personas que me quieren, le prestan atención a los detalles, a las cosas que digo y a lo que me gusta. Eso de verdad, me abruma un poco, porque vengo de un momento de mi vida donde la mayoría de las personas prefería ignorarme, a escuchar lo que yo pudiera decir.
After a thousand thanks from me, and lots of laughs, we arrived to the place where we would have lunch, Jalula, a beautiful place, with a super relaxed vibe that served the most delicious burgers in the world (maybe I exaggerate, but that day I loved them), between laughter and games, we finished our meal and something that surprised me even more arrived, the third part of my gift: They took me to a makeup store, you know when I love makeup, and they let me buy whatever I wanted🥺 At that moment I almost cried, I really love gifts and surprises, but not because of the monetary value, but because it shows how much the people who love me, pay attention to details, to the things I say and what I like. That really overwhelms me a bit, because I come from a time in my life when most people would rather ignore me than listen to what I have to say.
La tercera parte de cumpleaños, fue bastante graciosa porque fue un mes después, sin metirles hace como 2 semanas, y fue con mi amigos Fermín, quien por cuestiones de tiempo y trabajo no había podido concretar mi regalo, algo que sinceramente no me importaba mucho porque estuvo el día de mi cumpleaños como tal, y eso era lo importante para mí. En fin, la cuestión fue que el decidio, darme una sorpresa y llevarme a comer a un restaurant de comida italiana, llamado Il Pomodoro, dónde probamos su pasticho y pizza Isabella, ambas una maravilla, sinceramente una experiencia quiero repetir una y mil veces🤭. Al terminar fuimos a Churro manía, un sitio especialista en churros (obviamente) dónde terminé de ser feliz, comiendo ésta delicia con topping de chocolate y dulce de leche.
The third part of the birthday, was quite funny because it was a month later, without telling you about 2 weeks ago, and it was with my friend Fermín, who due to time and work issues had not been able to give me my gift, something that honestly did not matter much to me because it was my birthday as such, and that was the important thing for me. Anyway, the point was that he decided to surprise me and take me to eat at an Italian restaurant called Il Pomodoro, where we tried his pasticho and Isabella pizza, both wonderful, sincerely an experience I want to repeat a thousand times🤭. At the end we went to Churro mania, a place specialized in churros (obviously) where I ended up being happy, eating this delicacy with chocolate and dulce de leche topping.
