End of Week (17, 2022) Coincides With a New Month. Time to See How Things Progressed.

May 1st... Labor Day in most of the world, with a few noticeable exceptions (see image). And a Sunday. I can hear loud music from some part of town, probably from festivities organized with this occasion.

My sister and her family went for a barbecue with some friends.

What have I done? I know it's cliché, but I celebrated by working. :) I had my monthly situation to do, and that takes a few hours to complete, because I'm quite thorough. So I didn't go anywhere. Not that I felt the need to anyway, at least not today.

Labor Day in the World - source

Overall, at current prices, my portfolio went down by another 10.91% in April considering all assets, volatile and stable, liquid and illiquid (Splinterlands included).

Without Splinterlands assets, the dive is of 30.38% (that includes stablecoins, which means the volatile assets went further down, which was noticeable with the naked eye when I recorded their current values). That confirms what I already knew. Splinterlands assets perform relatively well when volatile assets take a plunge.

HIVE/HBD Monthly Goals

This was the worse month so far, reflecting that I stopped buying them with Splinterlands assets, because I have goals there as well, plus the price wouldn't justify such moves.

Overall, the situation is like this:

Hopefully, this will start to ameliorate towards the end of June, but I expect May to be a bad month for my main goals as well.

Splintershards (SPS) Goal

Well, the airdrop is late. That's why I kept pushing this post as well.

I wanted to have 1000 SPS staked for this report to have a nice round 80k SPS staked number, but I guess 500 SPS it is, and I'll stake 500 more when the airdrop is "fixed".

Still focusing on summoners, and, since the last report I maxed another one: Thaddius Brood. I didn't have a non-legendary anti-magic summoner, so Thaddius seemed like a good option (although not as good as the specialized Owster). I'll probably leave Quix for last, because it would be the cheapest for me to max it of all of them, and I'll probably upgrade another card at the same time.

Social Targets

I started the week with 7415 comments and 7660 replies.

And now I am at 7535 comments (passed 7500 this week!) and 7783 replies. They are both above my targets of 81 comments and 76 replies weekly to reach 10k of each by the year's end, which is good!

Special Mentions

I reached 15k HIVE Power on my main staking account this week.

LISTNERDS Stake

I reached 4k LISTNERDS staked, and started to unstake another 100 LISTBERDS (10% every 1000 LISTNERDS staked). Starting from 5k I'll unstake 20% every 1000 LISTNERDS staked until I decide otherwise.

This creates an interesting dynamic. The more higher stakers become interested in unstaking some of their gains, the more opportunities create for people following who don't unstake (as much). It'll be an interesting "dance" between keeping our influence on the LISTNERDS reward pool and taking out some profits.

This is something interesting I just discovered... I don't track my Listnerds stakes (either CTP or, more importantly, LISTNERDS) on my monthly situation. I should rectify that next month.

I don't see your report like that! I see numbers are growing, so I have no idea where did you get that conclusion? :) :)

Only if you are measuring your portfolio value in those paper-hardly-inflated fiat currencies, you are "losing"... But, if you would calculate the REAL value, I bet you are doing it right!

You are right, of course! But unfortunately, and especially for the majority of people who still don't give a crap about crypto and its benefits, I keep a track of the value of my portfolio in USD, to make easier sense. I would keep a track of its value in BTC too, but that would double my work.

nice update, hopefully you can get some momentum in the summer to leverage some more hive power.
although the price of hive is down, that means your rewards will be worth more.

Yep, I thought about that too. That's the half full part of the glass, and I'm glad when it happens.

Thanks for sharing @gadrian. You spent your labour Day like most every other nerd, on your computer, lol

Of course! I do get out of the house sometimes, lol. I'm still a bit baffled we haven't taken a vacation since before the pandemic! And that most likely won't happen this year either. We will most likely redo the attic and the roof. I mean hire someone to do the job, I'm not much of a handyman.

I know what you mean, Adrian. When the lockdowns first started it did not bother me much since other than work, I generally stay at home and away from crowds. I know I was not the only nerd who actually enjoyed the lockdowns when they first started or at least did not notice much difference.

Well, the market has some bad news so it's going to go down for a while. However, the economic situation has never been that great but the market was ignoring it.

Splinterlands has been having some server issues lately so I don't even know. I think it will be resolved eventually though.

I don't worry about the price drops that much. Even if they continue. I didn't post that as a reflection of being FUD-ed, but more like noticing a fact.

Yeah, I noticed the issues with Splinterlands. They will be fixed, for sure. Growing pains, now in terms of teams and processes to work together I believe.

Prices are down across the board. Markets don't like unknowns and there is a lot of those right now. Thanks for sharing.

I'm not worried at all. Just cold remarks, like an accountant. I am sure on the long term crypto space will have a tremendous impact on the world and we are here before the craziness happens.
