First Week After Updating My Hive Goals * Overall, Week 25, 2022

avatar

Last week I made some significant changes to my Hive goals. The most important of them is putting aside my HBD goal for a later date, and focusing on my HIVE goal instead, even with saved HBD, market evolution makes it a great idea.

The other change was an addition, and now I'll be tracking my staked LEO as well, planning to reach a minimum of 10000 by the year-end.

What else changed, as a result of this update? I am now posting with a payout option of 100% Hive Power, instead of 50/50% HP/HBD.

As I explained in this post, this is the best option for me, now that I focus on HP instead of both HP and HBD. I can be a little more profitable too during this time. And since I don't need liquid funds because I still have my stash of HBD in savings plus the liquid HBD I earned during the payouts of last week, I don't need to set a 50/50% option.

Also, going forward, I won't compound my HBD interest and I will leave it liquid. If the market starts going down again, I will also partially withdraw HBD from savings and prepare to either buy or convert it to HIVE.

What if the market doesn't go down anymore and that was the bear market as some say? I don't believe that was it, at least in terms of time around the bottom levels, but I do have a plan for that too.

Regarding the price of HIVE and its good evolution lately, we also have to remember we are getting close to hard fork 26, and HIVE has historically done pretty well before hard forks.

Let's go over this week's progress.

HIVE Power Goal

Helped by the power-up facilitated by Listnerds, I've added 171 more HP this week, which is fine compared to previous weeks:

LEO Staked

I almost hit 100 LEO staked (only 96) in the first week since I started tracking this goal. The delegation to leo.voter helps a lot with this goal, given the low price of LEO.

Splintershards (SPS) Staked Goal

Only 1500 SPS staked this week, but I am still on track with this goal to be completed by the time the airdrop is over.

Maxing Chaos Legion Set*

*) or reaching the limit beyond which I consider upgrading a card not profitable

I decided to add this overall situation, to better gauge my progress, because I still need to push hard on this goal:

Total CL Cards (incl. reward)Maxed or LimitPercent
1315239.69%
Total CL Cards (excl. reward)Maxed or LimitPercent
983131.63%

I maxed two cards this week: Deeplurker and Magi Necrosi.

Besides them, I bought more cards, but they are not maxed yet.

I don't believe I've talked about limited cards so far.

I decided to limit Uriel to level 3, instead of maxing it, because at level 4 all that it picks up is the Redemption ability. So, I don't think it's worth maxing it.

Another card I decided to limit is Scavo Hireling. To level 6, when it picks up camouflage. Why not higher? Because the way I play it, I don't need it to have a high speed. This is a good example of where the option to select between cards at different levels to play with would be great. Because when played differently, a maxed Scavo Hireling could be useful.

Social Targets

I started the week with 8494 comments and 8833 replies.

And now I am at 8620 comments and 8973 replies. They are both above my targets of 81 comments and 76 replies weekly to reach 10k of each by the year's end, which is good!

Thanks. I don't think I'll have any trouble reaching that goal. Maybe if I take a few months off or something, lol.

Great update. I hope the new focus will work. I am thinking to do the same. How are the returns on staking SPS?

Dropping. Currently 36%, including vouchers. But I am staking 100k SPS for more than just the staking APR. For things to come where staked SPS plays a role.

It makes a lot of sense to let your HBD goals aside for the moment. I also concentrate mainly on my Hive stake but I still like the interets I get from my HBD stake ;-)

If the market drops low enough, I will probably use a big portion of my HBD to buy HIVE. Otherwise, I still find it unlikely that I will achieve the HP goal.

Congratulations on your numbers. You are on track. You have a sound plan I think, accumulating more Hive or HP these days is good. I also stopped putting HBD into savings and growing my HP instead.

Yes, HBD was too much of a drain of resources during these times. Thanks for commenting!

Looking good, Adrian. Not bad for a bear market. way to keep building.

Yes, well noted. In a bull market I would be able to use some of my Splinterlands income like I did at the beginning of the year to help the other goals.

Awesome to see you pushing ahead with those LEO goals.

The low price is actually allowing the community to build a nice middle class.

Good token distribution will be key to the token's long term success!

If more people tell you to do something, you think about it and do it, if you agree. :)

You should also become a day trader in HBD with minimal risk. HBD is supposed to trade at 1 USD. But most of the time it trades slightly lower than that. You can easily pick the 0.95 range and offload at 1 USD, and repeat the process again. With a little capital, one can make a good amount of money with minimal risk. (Not financial advice).

There is a risk involved. When you sell it and wait for a lower level, HIVE could go lower than 5% and so you lose all the profit you would have made by trading HBD. But in the right circumstances, with skill patience and determination, one can make profit this way.

I think that is a solid plan and it's better to focus on Hive when the prices are lower. I am not sure if I would really do the 100% HP option for myself as I prefer to have some liquid in case I want to go to Hive Engine.

I agree. The 100% HP is only a good option if you are not interested in liquidities.
