My Hive Goals (Week 20, 2023)

This is a short sum-up table with the state of my goals in easier TLDR form. The table has only some information, so if you want details, they can be found in the post.

I include a link to the initial goal-setting post for 2023, for reference, if needed.

I don't like how my Hive goals are going lately, especially my problematic ones from Splinterlands (or comments). They go mostly as a result of inertia because I don't have the energy to take any bold actions lately and follow them through. Much like the chart of Hive or even bitcoin, that seem to be saying: ok, I'm tired, let's hold on for a minute to catch my breath. Of course, the minute turns into hours and the hours into days... Well, they'd better get in shape already, and so should I.

Let's see what changed since last week regarding my Hive goals.

HIVE Power (HP) + HBD in Savings Main Goal

My staked HP is currently at 30,031, and I have plenty of liquid HIVE in expectation of HPUD and some speculative opportunities. HBD from savings scaled back to 508 HBD, and I'd rather not use more of them, but you never know what the market offers. I will buy back when I think it's appropriate.

Here's what the evolution of the HP+HBD goal looks like:

image.png

I'll need to have one of the targets (HBD or HIVE) reached to consider this goal completed.

If a target becomes too easy, I may increase the target, but not forever. Just like the market can play against your targets, they can play in their favor too.

LEO Staked Main Goal

I staked 162 LEO since last week.

Another 338 LEO to stake in about 10 days to reach this month's guideline.

Splinterlands Land Expansion Main Focus

Land expansion's main focus extends throughout 2023. Unless I change the strategy, it will be the only main focus / main goal for Splinterlands in 2023. But there will be several 1-3 months goals.

First Land-Related Goal: DEC/DEC-B Saved - Completed

This goal is COMPLETED.

Deadline (passed): When DEC-B offer runs out, either because all were sold out or because the time limit was reached (April 9th).

Target to consider the goal completed: 1.5 mil. DEC-B saved. Done!

DEC Saved 2 Goal

Deadline stage 1: June (but sooner if possible).
Deadline stage 2: ?
Deadline stage 3: End of 2023?

Target to consider the goal completed:

  • stage 1: 1.2m DEC
  • stage 2 (will become DEC Saved 3 Goal): 2.2 DEC (1m additional DEC)
  • stage 3 (will become DEC Saved 4 Goal): 5 DEC (2.8m additional DEC)

Current situation: 281k x 2 DEC (in SWAP.HIVE/DEC) = 562k DEC (+56k).

Note: The little upward relief in the SPS price helped a bit, but it returned to its downward trend, expectedly, as players sell it for DEC, for the land requirements.

New Land-Related Goal: Maxed Cards for Staking on Land

Unless very cheap cards are on the market, this goal is on hold until I reach DEC Saved 2 Goal (stage 1).

The purpose of this goal is to build the amount of maxed-level cards I need for staking on my tract.

We will need to fill 5 slots per plot with staked cards, without requiring summoners (that doesn't mean they can't be used as regular cards).

So, what are the details of this goal?

Deadline:

  • stage 1: June 2023
  • stage 2: End of 2023 (this will be a new goal)

The total number of maxed-level* cards needed for staking on land: 500 (5 x 100).

  • stage 1: need 220 cards for land by the deadline
    • stretch goal: have optimized cards for 24 plots
  • stage 2: have 500 cards for land
    • stretch goal: have optimized cards for 44 plots

(*) any card with at least 1000 PP suitable for the terrain types I own will do (better for better plots); doesn't have to be maxed

Current situation total: 117 / 500 (23.4%)

Current situation stage 1: 115 / 220

Time remaining until Stage 1 deadline: ~3 weeks

Note: Currently no progress here. My focus is on DEC. Without DEC, I can have as many cards as I want, they are useless for land.

I could probably add some more cards from my deck if I'll need to (some are probably underutilized in my playing deck). New soulbound reward cards are options too.

Comments Made

Original goal: 18k, REDUCED to 17k, by the end of 2023.

I started this week with a total of 13723 comments made.

Ended the week with 13797 comments made, which brings the number of my comments this week to 74, which is quite low. It seems embarrassing to report these numbers, knowing the numbers that were pushed on Threads this weekend.

I now need an average of 100 to reach the goal of 17k.

Weekly Buy - CTPSB

Same as last week, I purchased a little CTPSB while waiting for some limit orders I have set up to execute at some point for different tokens.

I know what you mean about "inertia" - especially when I'm busy with my offline job...

Having enough DEC to buy land is pretty impressive. When I saw land prices I decided to stick to monster battles and use my DEC to buy cheap cards.

Yeah, we all go through such phases for various reasons.

Having enough DEC to buy land is pretty impressive.

It is even more DEC needed to properly use that land.

Budgets and goals need to be flexible as long as it does not deviate too far.

Nice report, Adrian.
Keep building and stacking.

I know. That's why I do re-evaluate them from time to time.

I appreciate your feedback, John.

Hello @gadrian that is a lot of comments and nothing at all to be embarrassed about. 13797 is so much. Maybe you are tired this week. Don't be so hard on yourself. You are a human not a robot. How many a day is 13797 a week? Oh it looks like that is the number of comments you made since the beginning of 2023? Right? You want to do 100 comments a day - no 100 a week. I'm sorry lol @gadrian. Still you do an awful lot and might be a little tired. Take it easy and I didn't mean to get after you so much. Barb 😊 !BBH !CTP

No, Barb, that's all of my comments on Hive, ever.

And I need about 100 a week to reach the goal until the end of the year. Which shouldn't be hard using threads, but I don't, at least not right now.

OK @gadrian thank you. Ok 100 week is doable 😆 a lot of work though.
OK good luck on that! !BBH !CTP

I think the comments goal can go a lot faster if you go to threads. The short-form content is easier to read through and comment. The number on threads have gone down again after the weekend battle ended but I still think it's a great place to get more comments in.

I know. But I'm still recovering after the sickness and especially the cough (which I'm still not 100% off). The cough especially drained my energy, and these days I'm pretty much not taking anything extra to give me some time to refill the energy.

If a person wants to achieve his goals, he has to work hard, then he can go and achieve things and then luck what happens, the number comes later. Best of luck for your future goals.
