In The Kitchen With Kat-The Lucky Charm Pancake Breakfast
Recently I was at Grocery Outlet and came across something intriguing. Lucky Charms Pancake Mix.
After laughing out loud and startling the poor elderly lady who as studying the cans of baked beans across the aisle, I plucked the box of cereal-infused pancake mix off of the shelf for a bit of a perusal.
Being a frugal soul and a homesteader, I tend to make most of our food from scratch. That said, there has been a surplus of heathens present in my house most weekends, and whipping up pancakes for 6-8 kids on Saturday or Sunday mornings has been a thing.
As a kid we didn't get to eat a lot of convenience foods, a thing I am not sad about, but there were times I would have liked to try things. I mean come on, when you are a kid Lucky Charms look magically delicious.
Also, the box of Lucky Charms Pancake mix was a whole $.50.
So, I tossed it into the cart with my organic cocoa nibs and toasted macadamia nuts and giggled in anticipation of the Bruhs all taste testing the processed food gloriousness.
As fate would have it, my daughter also had a friend stay over, so I had a ton of kids around Saturday morning to try the pancakes.
Seeing as I was going to foster Corporate America pancake concoctions on them for breakfast, I had one of the kids head out to the freezer and get out some packs of our homegrown bacon and sausage. They looked pretty happy as I cooked up those lovely pork products.
I then got to business whipping up the Lucky Charms pancakes.
In the box there were two packages, one was the mix and one was the topping. The youths and I all had a good laugh over the so-called topping, for it was just a small bag of Lucky Charms cereal.
The mix itself was pieces of cake, you just add water or milk and whisk it up. To be honest, it looked just like regular pancake mix. I added some milk and water and whisked it up. There were colored sprinkles in the mix which I thought was a nice touch.
Faster than you could sing, They're magically delicious, I had a pile of pancakes cooked. The kids all grabbed piles of steaming pancakes, sausage, and bacon.
Then the taste testing began.
These just taste like regular pancakes, they all began squawking.
Good to know.
Since the box of Lucky Charms Pancake mix was bit on the small side, I also whipped up a batch of regular buttermilk pancakes, because six, 16-18 year old kids can put away the vittles.
In the end, I don't think I will buy the pancake mix again, but for .50 it sure was a bit of food fun!
I really liked that small dog, it looks very cute 😍

You get an A for effort!
It's Finn's turn next for his "hu•mom" to whip up something magically delicious!
Handsome Sheppy pup!
@generikat
I adore getting A's! Thank you!
And I can't wait to see what Mr. Finn whips up, probably the cats into a fervor, but that would still be pretty cool lol!
