HOW TO LIGHT A FIRE MORE EASILY IF IT WAS RAINING

Dear Hive

August 2021. A week ago we made the first outdoor tents for the season. It had been raining for four days in a row and we caught the gap of one day to be able to do camping. Once we had prepared our food and water, it was time for the campfire. We gathered enough firewood for the whole night and started trying to light the fire. The four days of incessant rain had their effect and after three unsuccessful attempts to light a fire in the familiar ways, we had to think of something more unusual.

There is a saying Along the dry and wet forests. We used this idea and managed to make a big and strong fire.

We looked for a very dry tree that stood almost upright and thus managed to dry out due to the wind.

The trees that lie on the ground are not dry, although they look like them. A lot of moisture has seeped into them and they need more time to dry completely and help us light a fire.

Here's what we did, we took this tree and we made it into splinters, from tiny to big, small twigs. We lit the little ones first, making an improvised stand out of another flatter wood so that we could later move the finished coals into the hearth.

And so, from fever to fever, increasing in size after fifteen minutes, we had a fire ready from the larger trees and twigs.

With the idea of keeping the fire around it easier, we arranged the larger branches so that they could dry out from the heat. This is the simple and easy to make a good fire in the wood that will helps us all in keeping warn in cold night.
