The importance of skill acquisition in the quest for financial freedom and personal development.

During my conversation with a friend yesterday, I explained to him how I employed a computer programmer for my little brother Henry to train him on how to code. When I told my friend this, he was surprised and blown away. You see, skill acquisition is a necessity especially in a country with a failing government like Nigeria. The government has stopped catering for the people a long time ago. The availability of jobs reduces every single day. Even if you're lucky to find one, majority of these jobs will still not pay well.

As a person living in this kind of economy, can you afford to not acquire one skill? It will be very foolish not to do that. Me as an person have acquired lot of skills by channeling into my passion and what I love doing best. I learnt how to make bags and shoes, I'm an artist and a content creator and even at that, I'm still learning other skills slowly underneath. I will not stop emphasising on the fact that it's very foolish to have one source of income. In order to have several source of income, one need to acquire these skills.

It saddens my heart when people just sit and stay where they are without thinking of how to improve themselves nor thirst for new skills and development. It's so sad to see there are still people that live like this. Skills are life assets that cannot be snatched from you. They are gifts that stays with you and are ready to provide for you.

In this technology century, there are lots of skills to be acquired (will be discussing that later). One just need to channels into one's capability and passion and work in line with that. Like me I love creating things with my hand and so I went into bag and shoe making. It's very important to choose right and try possible best to excell in it. When you acquire new skills, it takes you from the level you were before to another. It paves more ways for you than before. It boost confidence and ofcus eventually, it becomes another source of income. Learn a skill today.
