Some of my posts here in aseanhive contains of Nature travel activities. This time I will make other post and this is about food, Let me share my recipe about Bilo-Bilo porridge.

Before we proceed on how to cook this kind of porridge, allow me to share my ideas about it.

Bilo-Bilo is a kind of porridge that contains many ingredients. Thia is very traditional here in the Philippines during holy week seasons. There are several names of this food depends on the place.

This kind of food is also good for feeding program particularly for the kids. The kids loves to eat this kind of food because aside of sweet flavor, it contains a nutritious content because of the Ingredients.

I will teach you how to cook Bilo-Bilo. The first things we do is to gather the Ingredients;

  • Banana
  • Brown Sugar
  • Coconut milk
  • Camote
  • Cassava ( optional )
  • Sago
  • Landang
  • Grains/Rice

Methods:

First thing to do is to get extract or coconut milk. This is the main ingredient that can make bilo-bilo taste good.

Pell the banana, camote, cassava and sliced it into cubes.

By cooking this,

Mix all the ingredients, sliced camote, cassava, banana. Add the coconut milk and stir it very carefully. Next, add the brown sugar and boiled it for a minute.

If it is already boiled, add the grains or rice and stir it again.

Add the so-called landang, It can bring colorful taste of bilo-bilo.

Last, add the sago and mix it very well so it will balance the taste. Boiled for a few minutes and served while its hot.

Yes my friend. The taste of bilo-bilo when its cold, its just like ice cream. 😊

Such a yummy traditional Porridge with healthy and good ingredients. A traditional breakfast here in Cambodia is porridge too with either salt or sugar, depending on personal taste.
