Balancing Work and School

Happy Weekend

Working and studying is never an easy experience particularly when you are a full-time student and taking a course that takes all your time and complete concentration.

I'm not doing it at school since my course provides no time for it, it's either in class, lab or studying. If am to take any Job to complete, it's one I can do in the comfort of my home and deliver weekend tasks.

I had a roommate who was studying and schooling. She was working at a hotel near to my school. The work was causing her to skip courses because her classes were more of early hours, and her department was demanding attendance.
The work was very stressful that she became sick and had to quit. She even had a carry over that year. Picture her course which is not even studious like mine.

Watching her work and school, there's some advice I can give

Get a Job that offers you time
As a student, who wants to work and school, have a job that provides you time to study and attend classes, or else your academics will suffer. There's a possible 3 times job a week or Weekend Jobs.

Identify your student
Letting your employer know you're a student will enable him to alleviate you of certain obligations. I know some people don't like expressing this so they can be hired. But for me, it's best to let your employer know you're a student.

Balance the Both
I still see friends who work and study and still have excellent results and decent money. it's all about balancing the equation. The fact is that one may likely suffer yet they're a method you may be fair to yourself by striking a balance. Set down your academic objectives and working goals also.
Know why you came to school and schedule time for reading and lessons.
There are certainly some lessons that you need not skip since they may be hard to grasp from your friends.

Have a fun filled weekend
Thank you for reading

My dear, it's never as easy task to combine both. However, some people still do both and achieve a result but it all depends on the capacity of an individual. So sorry to hear that your friend had carry-over due to this.

In some cases, people engage in work and study due to financial constraints. God will help us.
Nice entry 👍

I have class mates who are working to finance themselves and some of them manage to balance both, it all boils down to proper time management

Job and work at the same time is not an easy thing. But it is very important to manage them. Your friend must have gone through a very difficult phase but I hope she is used to all these things now.

Thank you for sharing this.

For real,if you want to have a work and school at the same time, you should get a work, that will create time for you,and won’t affect your studies.

My dear, combining both work and studies is really not an easy one. It is even dependent on the kind of job. For instance hotel work can never give you enough time to study. Therefore it would be unwise to go for that kind of a job as a student. Thanks for sharing this with us
