[LOH#120] Why Do People Misunderstand Me?

@ladiesofhive keeps presenting us with fantastic weekly prompts and this week's topic was presented to us by @irenenavarroart.

Sometimes when people don't understand you they aim to presume and leap into conclusions without asking questions. For me, if I hear a rumor about someone I prefer questioning the individual in question instead of spreading information am not sure.

When I meet someone and subsequently become familiar with them they tell me that I appear severe on my face but I turn nice when they get closer. Some folks have even informed me that they were hesitant to speak to me because I could seem unpleasant but the second we start chatting I'm one of the nicest people they have met. Sometimes I say it when people say it since they tend to appreciate me more, other times I simply hate it cus they misunderstand me. Me having a serious face and doing my business doesn't imply I will be nasty. I dislike individuals who are even rude.

Being an introvert has also caused people to misunderstand me. I appreciate being on my own and don't really know how to start a new discussion initially, I am a timid person basically. I actually don't like many friends around me and always appreciate staying inside. So people tend to mistake it for pride. Just because I don't speak to people doesn't make me a show-off. I love establishing boundaries and for my mental health I remain with only a few friends who will always offer great things to my life.

If you are someone who judges others too hastily and misinterprets them because of how they behave. I believe you should ask questions. Some individuals changed due to their past. Call them, ask questions and discover why they are like that.
And to others, who people misinterpret because of one attribute, you shouldn't stop being the true you just because people misunderstand you. If you have the opportunity you can explain you can or if not let them with their views, over time they may comprehend you better.
