A SMALL word about Philosophy.

Would you like to know more? I mean, do you want to know how to know more? It’s pretty easy because you are already here reading this post and being curious – unless you just want to be entertained.

You don’t have to be a philosopher, but I provide and introduce you to "how to become a philosopher in a few minutes".
I found the book 30-Second Philosophies in a friend's library many years ago and so far, it has been a reference book to me and gives me a good view of some important influences and terms of the history of philosophy.

Here is a small insight and a great description of "how to become a philosopher in a few minutes".

If you doubt that you can become a philosopher in a few minutes, then you have already taken the first small step towards becoming one.

The attitude of scepticism and the tendency to question are central to philosophy. By questioning your beliefs and those of others without prejudice, you will develop understanding of what you believe in. In this way, you will also get to know yourself better. I'm also going to ask you a few questions that will help you on your way to becoming a philosopher.
Most of us believe in keeping promises. But is that always right? What if Burt promised to return Hilary's gun, but was realising that Hilary intends to use the gun to shoot Willard? Should Burt return the gun? Let's say you think, "No, not in this case".
The next philosophical step would be to give a general principle for telling us when to keep promises. Perhaps the following rule comes up: "Keep your promises unless somebody else will be harmed." (This may not be entirely true, since keeping the promise to be faithful to one's spouse is obviously detrimental to the potential lover, for example.)
Next, ask yourself: "Why should we follow this or any other ethical rule?" Some believe that we should obey ethical commands because they come from God. But even if you are convinced that God exists, this is not right. For keeping a promise is not right because God commands it, God commands it because it is right.
But why is it right? If you examine what philosophers have said on this issue over the past 2,500 years, you will find that there has been a great deal of disagreement. Some people think that pondering such questions is a waste of time because you will never get a result anyway.
However, some are enthusiastic about raising new questions, thinking about preliminary answers, asking further questions and so on. Even if we cannot conclusively answer many of these questions, the process of asking does bring us a little bit closer to an understanding of ourselves.
