Bacalar, the jewel of Quintana Roo (español a continuación)

This post is about Bacalar, cause I can’t get out of my mind the idea of leaving this area of Mexico.

On this post, I have decided to share with you which is the most beautiful place I’ve ever been on earth (for now), “Los rapidos”.

Bacalar is located 340km south of Cancún; it is very famous due to its immense lake of crystal turquoise water.
It has this colour because of the Stromatolites, indistinguishable sedimentary rocks that are giving oxygen on earth for more than 2000 million years.

We arrived to the hotel “El mirador” directly next to the Cenote Azul. At this time, everything around it is under construction.
We were very “lucky” while visiting, because we had a free alarm! These, were intensely loud alarms that started our day at 8AM and stopped for the breaky break at 9AM, those alarms were the big machines that make holes on the pavement… you can imagine the sound of the alarm… :P

But what a problem right?? We could wake up early to jump in the cenote azul, where we swam alone… with no fear to be stang by a wild animal (we are so influenced by Australia).

After this beautiful time, we went to the Panadería La Tartaleta of Bacalar where we enjoy their pastries the most!! All to get ready to go to “Los rapidos”… my favourite place.
Normally, people rent a kayak to go against the current and then float back down. We didn’t do this… we like challenges and enjoy swimming against the current and could do this over and over again :)

Before the sunset reached, we jumped in the car to have dinner at Bote de leche; it is a very demanded place and it get so busy so early. I think we ordered 3 garlic breads, this seems to be their “most sold” plate.

After dinner, we saved a big toad from being crushed by cars and followed ant trail of hard working ants. We are mesmerised of the weight they carry on them! I mad a funny video of the ants that I posted on our Instagram Grow and bow instagram

To conclude the day, our classic was to play UNO… who doesn’t know this game?
We loved to end the day playing it. We added a fun rule that you might know. It’s called mirroring.
This rule makes all the participants be attentive through the whole game. Let’s see if I can explain it right: even if it is not your turn, if you have exactly the same card (same colour and same number or sign) that is on the table, you can jump the others turn and play the card, this way the game continues after you; of course. You have to be fast, cause it only counts if you put the same card before the current player put their card. Have you ever played with this rule??

Next day was as good as the day before! We chilled at the park, listened to Mazin’s guitar playing and enjoyed card readings with Steph and Hendrik.
For the afternoon, we had planned to get some kayaks to cross the lake to the “Canal de los piratas” and this was the best decision we could make. Best company, crystal clear warm water and the sunset in front of us, who can ask for more? I really advice you to come to this Pueblo Mágico if you ever go to the Caribbean in Mexico.

This time I finally decided to buy a souvenir. I met Carlos instagram and his mesmerising dream catchers.
The stories that I remember from when I was a child say, when you hang your dream catcher next to your bed, it protects you while you sleep. Like a spiderweb catches it’s preys, the centre of the dream catcher traps the nightmares and through the feathers the dreams flow down towards you.
Furthermore, this mystic net will allow that the trapped dreams get burned with the first rays of sun.

My new souvenir

I couldn’t help it and felt in love with one… but what to do? Artists always support artists :P
So, I ended up buying it and I’m so happy about it.
It is a piece that contains lots of blue stones (labradorites and blue agate) which are ones related to the throat chakra (Vishuddha), the energy that those crystals carry is the one that connects you to your speech, your true voice, in order to have clear communication coming from your heart.
I personally feel so identified with this, because now more than ever I feel the need to share with you and the world, what my true voice is. Which gladly I will share with you throughout this journey.
It also has plenty of Amber, that is renewing energies (does it ring you a bell? As well as the purpose of the dream catcher itself, to clean and renew the dreams) it is as well a crystal that carries the knowledge of millions of years.
Also the top of the dream catcher has an Obsidian manto huichol, that is my birth crystal, connecting me to Mother Earth, guiding me and protecting me through the path.

It also has a jaguar craved on bone, a totem to the witch, sosceress, medicine and femininity. Connecting the jaguar with the blue stones remind us women, to connect with our true essence and trust in our intuition.
Last and not least, the feathers of the magical Guacamayo, also related with the ability to communicate clear and truthful. As well as the feather of the tip of the piece, a Faisán, connected with sexuality, hence the creativity.

Important detail: When purchasing items made with feathers, it is good to know the source of them. I normally don’t like to buy them, but when I do it, I like to know that it comes from feathers from birds that shed them, and they are not killed to use their feathers.

Este post es sobre Bacalar, porque no puedo quitarme de la cabeza la idea de irme de esta zona de México.

En esta publicación, he decidido compartir con ustedes cuál es el lugar más hermoso en el que he estado en la tierra (por ahora), “Los rápidos”.

Bacalar está ubicado a 340 km al sur de Cancún; es muy famoso por su inmenso lago de aguas cristalinas color turquesa.
Tiene este color debido a los Estromatolitos, rocas sedimentarias indistinguibles que están dando oxígeno a la tierra desde hace más de 2000 millones de años.

Llegamos al hotel “El mirador” justo al lado del Cenote Azul. En este momento, todo a su alrededor está en construcción.
Tuvimos mucha "suerte" durante nuestra visita, ¡porque teníamos una alarma gratis! Estas eran alarmas intensamente fuertes que comenzaban nuestro día a las 8 a. m. y se detenían para el descanso a las 9 a. m., esas alarmas eran las grandes máquinas que hacían agujeros en el pavimento... se pueden imaginar el sonido de la alarma... :P

Pero que problema verdad?? Podríamos madrugar para saltar al cenote azul, donde nadamos solos… sin miedo a que nos pique un animal salvaje (tan influenciados por Australia).

Después de este hermoso tiempo, nos fuimos a la Panadería de Bacalar donde disfrutamos al máximo de sus pasteles!! Todo para prepararme para ir a “Los rápidos”… mi lugar favorito.
Normalmente, la gente alquila un kayak para ir contra la corriente y luego flotar hacia abajo. No hicimos esto... nos gustan los desafíos y disfrutamos nadar contra la corriente y podríamos hacer esto una y otra vez :)

Antes de que llegara el atardecer, nos subimos al auto para cenar en Bote de leche; es un lugar muy demandado y se llena mucho desde temprano. Creo que pedimos 3 panes de ajo, este parece ser su plato "más vendido".

Después de la cena, salvamos a un sapo grande de ser aplastado por autos y seguimos el rastro de hormigas trabajadoras. ¡Estamos hipnotizados por el peso que llevan sobre ellos! Encontré un video divertido de las hormigas que publiqué en nuestro Instagram @grow.and.bow

Para concluir el día, nuestro clásico fue jugar al UNO… ¿quién no conoce este juego?
Nos encantaba terminar el día tocándolo. Agregamos una regla divertida que quizás conozcas. Se llama reflejo.
Esta regla hace que todos los participantes estén atentos durante todo el juego. A ver si me explico bien: aunque no sea tu turno, si tienes exactamente la misma carta (mismo color y mismo número o signo) que está sobre la mesa, puedes saltarte el turno de los demás y jugar la carta, de esta manera el juego continúa después de ti; por supuesto. Tienes que ser rápido, porque solo cuenta si pones la misma carta antes de que el jugador actual ponga la suya. ¿Alguna vez has jugado con esta regla?

¡El día siguiente fue tan bueno como el anterior! Nos relajamos en el parque, escuchamos la guitarra de Mazin y disfrutamos de las lecturas de cartas con Steph y Hendrik.
Para la tarde teníamos planeado conseguir unos kayaks para cruzar el lago hasta el “Canal de los piratas” y esta fue la mejor decisión que pudimos tomar. La mejor compañía, agua tibia y cristalina y la puesta de sol frente a nosotros, ¿quién puede pedir más? Realmente te aconsejo que vengas a este Pueblo Mágico si alguna vez vas al Caribe en México.

Esta vez finalmente me decidí a comprar un recuerdo. Conocí a Carlos y sus fascinantes atrapasueños.
Las historias que recuerdo de cuando era niña dicen que cuando cuelgas tu atrapasueños al lado de tu cama, te protege mientras duermes. Al igual que una telaraña atrapa a sus presas, el centro del atrapasueños atrapa las pesadillas y, a través de las plumas, los sueños fluyen hacia ti.
Además, esta red mística permitirá que los sueños atrapados se quemen con los primeros rayos del sol.

No pude evitarlo y me enamoré de uno… pero ¿qué hacer? Los artistas siempre apoyan a los artistas :P
Entonces, terminé comprándolo y estoy muy feliz por eso.
Es una pieza que contiene gran cantidad de piedras azules (labradoritas y ágata azul) que son las relacionadas con el chakra de la garganta (Vishuddha), la energía que llevan esos cristales es la que te conecta con tu habla, tu verdadera voz, para poder tener una comunicación clara proveniente de su corazón.
Personalmente me siento tan identificada con esto, porque ahora más que nunca siento la necesidad de compartir contigo y con el mundo, cuál es mi verdadera voz. Que con gusto compartiré contigo a lo largo de este viaje.
También tiene mucho Ámbar, que es renovador de energías (¿te suena? Además de la finalidad del propio atrapasueños, limpiar y renovar los sueños) también es un cristal que lleva el conocimiento de millones de años.
También la parte superior del atrapasueños tiene un manto huichol de Obsidiana, ese es mi cristal de nacimiento, conectándome con la Madre Tierra, guiándome y protegiéndome en el camino.

También tiene un jaguar tallado en hueso, un tótem a la bruja, hechicera, medicina y feminidad. Conectar el jaguar con las piedras azules nos recuerda a las mujeres, conectar con nuestra verdadera esencia y confiar en nuestra intuición.
Por último y no menos importante, las plumas del mágico Guacamayo, también relacionado con la capacidad de comunicarse de forma clara y veraz. Así como la pluma de la punta de la pieza, un Faisán, conectado con la sexualidad, de ahí la creatividad.

Detalle importante: a la hora de adquirir artículos elaborados con plumas, es bueno conocer el origen de las mismas. Normalmente no me gusta comprarlos, pero cuando lo hago, me gusta saber que provienen de las plumas de las aves que las mudan y que no las matan para usar sus plumas.
