Investment in Gold Vs Bitcoin - What does Return Chart Show?

We all want our investments to be safe and at the same time like to see them grow exponentially. Today, I came across this graph that depicts the Bitcoin Vs Gold investment returns over 13.5 years. It is interesting to note how the charts plots the Gold Vs Bitcoin investment performance from a $1 investment on 6 Oct 2009 when Bitcoin first had a market price. Let us have a look at numbers how they grow if one would have invested in Bitcoin and the other in Gold from the following table::

Just imagine if you were that lucky person who would have invested in Bitcoin like 13+ Years ago and that too a ONE dollar investment - that today would have resulted into $4+ Million. And at the same time if a person who would have invested in Gold would only be getting $2 dollars.. the difference over investment returns in huge. Now even if we take a scenario where someone would have invested in Bitcoin like 5 years ago then too their $1 investment would have 3x as opposed to investing in gold which gave a bare to minimum yield. Normally it is said rather we all belief that Holding Gold as asset over long period of time gives decent returns. But this was true prior to the existence of Bitcoin. Now that we have other opportunities like Cryptocurrency as a whole where the users have control over their money, leveraging decentralization, Defi, Blockchain in general the chances of getting more returns from these investment over Gold is much higher.

What would be my preference? - Gold Vs Bitcoin

I would opt for both the options. But the caveat is that investment in Bitcoin would be more as opposed to GOLD. Also, I would not touch any of many GOLD assets that has been build. Rather the go to market strategy would be invest 70% in Bitcoin/Crypto and 30% in Gold. Lets say in a year I keep aside $1K+ of investment then $700 would be invested in Bitcoin and the remaining $300 in GOLD. This way I am able to leverage the investment yields of both the assets and maximize my profit as well. There is no such strategy which we can say is a bullet proof that keeps giving you good returns. One need to be cautious of their investments and change their strategy based on the circumstances and the emerging market trends as they too play an important role overall in financial investments.

I'm heavily in crypto, but I do plan to do similar to what you said... Yes, gold will probably do worse than Bitcoin, but with late events in crypto, things could change very fast... Bitcoin is the most popular and probably the "safest" of all crypto, but for example, Ethereum is getting more and more traction... Who knows what token will be the best performing in 10 years?

Gold is 💩 unfortunately… the narrative is good on paper but hasn’t really worked out.

Can I just say, I will rather go for Bitcoin over Gold, Gold is not just an investment that is quite reliable this days, but Bitcoin is, so I rather put all I have on Bitcoin instead of Gold
