I am a doctor. Besides, getting a monthly salary, I am getting something else from my dealings with the patients. Daily reminders!! Their illnesses remind me how blessed I am! Their stories increase my gratefulness/gratitude to my Creator!

Reminder 01

One Bangladeshi worker came to me with severe itching and red rashes almost all over the body. He was suffering from this illness for the last 3-4 days. He went to another clinic and took injections & tablets. Following injections, the condition improved for one day but later returned to its previous state. When I examined him, I found redness almost all over his skin. Those were urticaria. During this period, he had abdominal cramps/ pain for some time. He had no prior history of a similar illness. He was not known allergic to any food or beverage! I did some blood tests and gave him some medications along with an injection.

Reminder 02

Another 35-year-old worker came with urinary problems. He was having increased urine output for the last couple of weeks. He was also having pain while passing urine along with pain in his lower abdomen. He turned out to be a diabetic with a severe urinary tract infection. DM was the reason for his increased urine output as well as for the urinary infection. I gave him the necessary treatments.

Reminder 03

2-3 people came with complaints of generalized weakness, fatigue, muscle cramps and/or vertigo. All of them were either working at the firm/field or construction sites; under the sun with a temperature of 43°C to 45°C. Extreme heat is making many workers sick this summer!

Once I had a moderate form of allergic reaction following wearing a new unwashed lower garment. But, with tablets, the problem was resolved, Alhamdulillah.

So far, I am free from DM. I pray to Allah that He will protect me from all kinds of illnesses.

I am working in an air-conditioned room & sleeping in an air-conditioned room. Alhamdulillah.
