How my Family feels about Crypto Currencies Part 1

What to expect in this post.

In this post and in the next one to come I will be discussing how each of my family members feels about blockchain and cryptocurrency in general. Keep in mind this isn’t finical Advice. It's just what I think and feel.

Myself.

Of course, I will start with myself since being the first one to enter the blockchain in my house. In this post, I will be writing about how I feel about the blockchain general personally, cryptocurrencies, and my plans related to the blockchain.

How I get to know Bitcoin

I am the type of person that likes trying new things and bitcoin wasn’t an exception but how can I get my hands on one? That was my problem with the currency how to get it. I try my best to find out but no one knew at that time.
Now how did I know bitcoin?. Let's travel to the past when I was still in school. The first time I got to hear about it was when I was in grade 5 or primary 5, my teacher was the one who keeps talking about it. at that time it was worth about 1500 naria which is about 1 hive at hive all-time high no one knew how he get in. but my teacher was in it and it was not possible for me to approach him and talk about it since I have an exam to write. Some students were still asked him but he bluntly refuses to talk much about it too I remember that he always says “it is a risky business and I don’t want anyone’s mother and father to ask me what I did with their son's money”. He will have told me about it since later on we became friends but at that time I have completely forgotten about it and he didn’t mention it to me when am around.
The second time I heard about it was from one boy that later went to find out how it works. I tried to ask him about it but he knew only how to get the price chart and not how to get inside but I didn’t stop there I keep asking him from time to time but he kept on saying the price has gone up but never did invest. Sadly I gave up on it.

When I first bought my first Bitcoin.

It was September 2019 was when I come across my cousin walking into my shop where I sell UK used phones, he talked about how he was able to get enough to pay for a very expensive phone in the I guess it was an iPhone 8+ or 7. He showed me the app that Nigerians can use to buy crypto and he showed me the price of bitcoin and that time it was already a 2.3million naira which is ETH price at the time of writing.
Later that day when I got home I downloaded the app and bought an amount which I am willing to lose but it was the last money I have in my account which was 300naira, that was not even up to a dollar at that time and now that money can’t feed me as a snack. But lucky me I didn’t sell it later on. When bitcoin was later banned in my country it became impossible to sell or swap or even send since the amount was too small, and till this day that is the only amount of bitcoin I hold.
At the time of writing, my asset in bitcoin is now 5k in naria currency and I have no reason for taking anymore.

My plans for Bitcoin.

In the future, I plan to buy and hold more BTC but at has now I don’t have any money to buy 1BTC or even a percentage of it, though I have a plan to get some percentage and later 1BTC or two or more but with the December in hand the process keeps delaying and I am not able to do one transaction successfully there is always a delay and there is nothing I can do about it. Hope things get better by Later January.

Ethereum

Unlike BTC I never knew about Ethereum the name and the concept sounds foreign to me. Even when it was mentioned I didn’t understand what it was and I completely forget about it.
How I get to know ETH
I first heard of Ethereum in February 2020 and it was in an advertisement when I was about to watch something on youtube. It pop up and I taught it was a live event so I sat back and let the ads play, but things were not clear to me. So since I didn’t understand how ETH works and I wasn’t interested in learning about it. Late this year I got to understand what it was about, but Eth showed me something I got to understand since am a programmer and it makes me very much interested in the HIVE blockchain. Yes!!! ETH helped to see that programming was an essential part in the blockchain

My plans for Ethereum

When I look ETH I see both for investment and programming I not too sure about it in fact I will only learn how to code inside so that people can come to me to help them with it, but when it comes to investing I am willing to have 2ETH since it is a popular currency and it has some potential of growing.

HIVE

Everyone knows that I will talk about Hive since it has was possible to post give me freedom of writing what I want on it. Shout out to hive Blockchain For being able to make it this far in just a few years in the blockchain circle.

How I knew about Hive

I came into this wonderful space on 2020 November 20, which means am I supposed to celebrate a 1 year anniversary in this wonderful space. But I didn’t due to some problems I faced at that time BUT I STILL ACCEPT GIFTS NOW lol (typical me I always love free things 😂 ). Now back to business.
I got to know about Hive from @Jongolson. At first, he didn’t take it strange to Hive not use what he called Start Earning Today and it came at the right time when I was about to give up on online money stuff. According to my list “Start Earing today” was on the third to last things I want to check concerning online business, but by looking at the name I just felt that it wasn’t possible to earn money that very day to I decided to skip it and check the other last two.
Later on, after complaining I just decided to just hear it out, entering to I found videos and small text, so I took my time I watched only two videos that day, it turns out that it was great but not much. after a week I tried another one and then after I finished everything, but he told me to another stage and then finally hive.
when I was the power that hive has I told my brother and little sister, but like before they just didn’t want to join the journey, and even still now it's hard to tell them how it works because they don’t want to go through all that I went just to find Hive out.

Plans Concerning Hive

When it comes to Hive want to go deeper and deeper and even someday make it learn how to fully code, blog, game, and lots more on the hive. Buying of NFTS on hive is also part of it. Leaving here to somewhere else even if Hive turns out to lose value I don’t think so. Why? It’s because when I look at the likes and comments I have on my Facebook, Reddit, Instagram, and lots more other centralized platforms I have never gotten this much like in any of them than in Hive.

I can’t say much about the blockchain itself. However what I do know is this, it’s has a long way to go and it has been one of the top security in the world has present.
My plans concreting Blockchain
Unlike Bitcoin and Hive, the blockchain is like the land these cryptocurrencies all dwell on. So if there is a way some can invest directly in the blockchain itself that will be an epic WIN just like I didn’t know then how to invest in bitcoin years ago, I am facing a similar problem. Conclusion

General speaking the blockchain and crypto Has been a help to some and to others the opposite however it has been a source of income to those whose country can not afford to feed their citizens and family well the more we strive to know how this technology works the more ideas and ways we can make it a part of our lives.
