THE ARRIVAL OF A NEW CHILD || CROSS CULTURE CONTEST.

Hello friends of hive, how have you all been? It is good to be here on the on the contest this month and partaking in the contest. It is another month,and here comes the month of contest which means we all are going to be expressing our minds on the contest in the cross culture community. The main point or the aim of this contest is to talk about how a new child is being celebrated or welcomed to the world in my culture. And also I shall be talking about how names are being chosen and given to a new baby in my culture. Every aspect of culture have a way of celebrating new baby arrival and giving names to them. In this contest or article I will be point note on some key aspect of naming of child and the welcoming of new baby. Having a new baby around beings joy to the face and the mind of the parent because it will be a great joy to them for having a gift from heaven.

Talking about this contest and also about the topic you will see that each and every one has their ways of life and different matter of approaches to new baby and the giving of names to them. Let's take for Instance, we have different tribes and culture ethics and they decide the way things are been done in their own way. Let say about churches for example, when a new child is given birth to and brought to life, you will see the joy and the happiness in the whole peoples face because everyone tends to celebrate with new baby. For instance in the celestial body, when a baby is given birth to, the baby is taken to church for the naming but the mother of the baby is not permitted to come into the church due to the current state she will be. She will still be out side of the church for her to remain cleanse and when the names will be given to the child it is in the traditional that the holy messenger who is to go to the lord and plea for the baby and get the name from the holy spirit through trance. The parent are not to decide the names of the baby but the spirit does but if the spirit of the parent and the holy spirit are in line they will actually get all what they desire because it will actually be all what they have in mind the spirit will bring out.

They will carry set of candles in the water and pray into it, they will bring salt and sugar and honey to the scenic where the naming is being hold and they will use it to pray for the baby and intercede for the baby. Throughout the naming that very day, the mother will be outside of the church until when they are done then the baby will be brought out to her mother. Then they proceed to the item 7 which is the merriment. That is an aspect of giving name to child and the arrival of a new baby.

Another aspect, is the way it is done in my culture. In my culture, the arrival of a new born baby has always been so good and so demanding. When a baby is delivered in the hospital or anywhere it may be the father of the child is first called upon to wish him congrats on the arrival of his new baby then the father of the baby then come to the venue and then make calls to different people he will want to share the good news with. After the baby and the mother have been discharged from the hospital if it was a safe delivery (no form of cut during delivery) then the mother and the baby then set to be discharged from the hospital and then set to go home and then you will see the way well wishers will be coming in and out of the out to greet the new born baby and the family till the 7th days of the arrival of the baby when the naming of the child will take place.

On the 7th day which is the naming of the new arrival of the baby, there will be preparation taken place to use as a compensation to those that will be available for the child's naming and lots of arrangements put in place. After that they will proceed to doing the naming of the child before this is done, the parent of the father of the baby would call the father of the baby and the mother to ask the names that they want to give to the child and also the parents of the both father and mother will also merge together to decide names that will be given to the new baby. After this is done, then the naming sets in place where different people will come around and celebrate the family of the new arrival then they pray for the baby and call out the names that have been decided by the parents of the baby then when they are done with the naming of the baby they are served varieties of food for them to eat and then the people that came will give gifts and present to the new baby and merriment will proceed after that.

On this note when the names are been given to the new baby then they will now be reciting the name s given in the ears of the baby until he or she is old enough and able to understand that the names that he or she is being called her names given to her by her parents then she will be happy to be having such names.

There are still more cultures and the way they believe things should be done in their own culture but this I have said is just my on aspect of culture and they way I see it other are totally different but I think this contest will make us know more about other people's culture of welcoming new baby and how names are been given to them.
