Okay, here goes...

I'm from the U.K. but for most of the last three decades I've lived in Japan where I work mainly as a freelance college lecturer, but also do some private teaching. As well as teaching English language classes I teach a variety of topics such as European and American History and Literature and Intercultural Communication.

In my free time I play quite a bit of chess and am developing a chess opening reportoire mnemonic memory system and blog and create video content about those topics.

Am I actually any good at chess? Ahem, let's just say that I trust I am an "improving" player. You can check out some of my chess-related stuff in the Hive chess community, or on my blog at EasyChessTips.com.

Cheers for now, and good luck with the Liotes project!

Thank you very much for taking this challenge and for sharing David! I played quite a lot of chess while I was at high school and also at university. However I've never reached a stage that went beyond the intuitive play. So I don't really know about openings and moves :-).

Always a pleasure reading and watching your videos, David... I was too occupied lately with Liotes that I didn't have time to curate and watch other's stuff, but I will come back... ;)
Thanks for taking part in the Liotes community!

I love the concept of chess, and I learned a bit from y grandfather when I was small, unfortunately I did not practice at all so I am just a noob, but I won´t mess up the figures :)
I played for cigarettes on the Budapest Keleti station while waiting for my trains, I knew I would loose but I just wanted to try, and once I even got to a stalemate. I will start reading your blog and join the hive chess community as a silent listener. !invest_vote
