So I open up /created several times a day and I vote on the best posts I see. There is so much content being created and we are supposed to sort it into categories somehow. Really its not just about voting randomly on a bunch of stuff and hoping you hit the lottery. It requires a little more than that.

There are things you can do, things you should do, and things you shouldn't do.

Things you should do!

Write great content, and curate great content! Easier said than done. What is "Good"? What is great? How do you measure it? Can you be fair and consistent while also avoiding bias, or are you determined to stick to your biases and vote for what you already like?

Can you look at something and see where the author is coming from? Do you support their ideas or at the very least their expression of ideas? What if there are no ideas? What do you do?

Things you shouldn't do!

Don't spam topics with irrelevant content. Also don't copy paste content from other places. If you want to share something, make sure you write about it and discuss what you think is interesting. Try to reveal some additional information, do a bit more research and tell us why it is worth considering.

Is there any POB in the post? How much Proof Of Brain is there in the post? How much thought do you really need in a post anyways? We waste our brains on Web2.0 social media, and it has become so meaningless in a way. The newest content is where eyes are drawn so we refresh and reload and post content for free. Here on Hive however, we want the best ideas. Meaningful efforts matter.

When I open up LeoFinance it is like a newspaper. I get to see a great selection of curated content on the main page, and if I want to read more I can start browsing the categories. We know a little about tags. There are some tags you should use and some tags you shouldn't There are tags for topics, tags for communities, and tags for tokens.

Tags for Topics

If the topic doesnt exist, you can create it by using it as your first tag. Lets pretend you are the worlds most passionate pancake maker. You can make a whole topic for pancakes. You can write your own recipies for pancakes, start with your top 3 recipies. Then publish 3 more pancake recipies. Then in your next post, write 9 recipies for pancakes, write three more and include links to your first two.

You can use the markup tools in the editor to create the links,
or use a little <a href= " LINK " , then > to
close the html with an < a/> to end the link.

Write, Click here to read 3 more pancake recipes that your whole family will love!

Start filling out your top three topics. Whatever tags you use the most will appear on your PeakD profile on the side bar, so start writing in the topics that you are most interested in and they will appear for you. On hive.blog you can take a look at the top trending tags at the moment.

Trending Communities

GEMS
LeoFinance <------------ Pick
HIVE CN 中文社区
Foodies Bee Hive
Movies & TV Shows
Hive Gaming
Photography Lovers <------- One or
Haveyoubeenhere
Nerday
Project HOPE
Natural Medicine <-------------- Pick 3
OCD

Decide what Tags you want to write about. When you are sitting down to compose some proof of brain and write, first ask yourself, what do you want to write about? Choose a category to work on, and do your best to write content that would make any random person landing on your post from Google want to stay a while and read more.

Tags for Communities

You can check out https://hive.blog/communities on Hive.blog or on Peakd
https://peakd.com/communities. Communities have identifier tags, as well as human meaningful tags.

For example, LeoFinance can be found on PeakD at https://peakd.com/c/hive-167922/created and the identifier tag is #hive-167922 and the human meaningful tag is #leofinance . You can use either tag to make sure your post shows up in that community. With some, like this one, you can earn LEO when users who have LEO staked like your content.

Topics for Communities

Here is another important one, as certain communities have certain tags, and depending on the community you should post in a certain category of communities. The rules vary so make sure you investigate further what you can do and where. Instead of showing you all the examples, I challenge you to find 3 category tags from 3 different communities, that you don't normally post in.

April Content Challenge:

Browse the list of topics inside a few communities and pick 3 tags. Select topics that you don't normally write about. Think about what kind of content creation you are going to do over the next week, and once you do, drop the 3 category tags in the comments here. If everyone picks 3 then I will have a list of hopefully a dozen or more unique tags that will start to grow. Try not to use the same ones.

Visit a group that you have never read before.

Write some original content, and create new tags too.

For one week, I will stake 1 POB token to anyone who does this.

I have 93 POB for you all right here in my wallet.
