MY MOM MY HERO

A woman that is stronger than 10 men put together. She is well-coordinated and can give up every pleasure to make sure she meets up the goal of carrying and providing for her children's basic needs. Follow me as I tell you a little about my hero in real life.

My mother is my always going super hero. Mama De Sharp in my younger brothers tune. My mother was left alone to take care of 4 children and the 5th one who was just 2 months in the womb when our father died. Mom as a young widow who had no one to help her had to run so close to God.

My father was from a polygamous family but the only child of the mother in my village, so he had other step brothers. A well thinking sibling will want to help the late brothers children to become something to recone with in the future but these brothers sort every possible ways to snatch what belonged to their brother. Thank God for my mothers elder sister who always come to help her during farming season so as to locate the lands.

My late dads brother will always come to make advanced to my Mom and his younger brother will always short at him and quarry his greed for women despite he already has 3 wife's.

One thing that helped my Mom was that she worked as a government worker so what she does was that she joined different contribution groups especially when we enter the higher institution so that the money will be more to take care of our fees. My Mom also made sure she furthered her education so she is a university graduate too. She made sure that she gave us the basic education we need the way others do.

Mom was able to produce the first graduate in the extended family that was a serious eye opener to all that their children started making their way to the higher institution. When it was time for me to get married most of the uncles where coming to play the role of the father. I remember when one of them called me to ask of my conviction and why am marrying someone that is not my tribe. I answered him and he said we should go to the mountain and pray for 3 days, I almost asked him whether it was God that told him to marty a second wife, I just kept quiet. Do you know that he never called to ask how I was preparing neither did he attend the occasion that is someone that said my father will not be happy with him if he allows me to marry outside my tribe.....

They almost frustrated my mothers effort during my wedding preparation but I encouraged her to bring out a little from the things brought for the b=ide price and keep the rest for herself because none of them helped her to pay children school fees which she adhered to, my wedding of the best in the history of the community that everything was completely paid till tomorrow they still make reference to it.

My mother went through a lot but am happy she is alive to reap the fruits of her labour and I wish she eats more of her labour. That's why I said she is my hero(ine). She denied herself so many pleasure to make sure her children gets to the standard that they can take care of themselves. When she came to my house when I gave birth to my second baby because we had more time more than the first child, I asked her lots of question so as to learn from her. One of the habits I have learnt is not playing with children's school fees, my mom shouldn't have shoes or eat well and pay her children's school fees. Some of those that have both parents and they are working still owe school fees.

That's why my heart goes out to people whose parents are not able to afford their basic school needs. Just yesterday I launched a program to help these children. You can take a look at what I organized far in this post
