Promotion of Decentralized Platforms

I do believe decentralization is good compared to centralization and we have seen it in the form of Facebook, Twitter or YouTube being centralized platforms banning users.
I guess it's one of the biggest issue with these centralized platforms. You are at the mercy of those having control of the platform.
On the other hand, decentralization is good but I believe it has its own drawback as well. And to me, one of the biggest one is that these decentralized platforms don't get much of promotion because it don't have an owner who could work on promoting it.
Yes, they do have communities which could help in promoting them but I guess not to the extent as could be with centralized platforms.
I believe decentralized platforms mostly run and thrive through a devoted community.
Talking of Hive, I do feel it's a platform that is very underestimated and probably its because Hive doesn't get much of promotion.
