#Caturday DIY - Homemade Kitty Patties

My daughter was reading a cozy mystery book that featured a cat owned by the protagonist. The cat was apparently overweight, so the female lead needed to put her cat on a diet. Anyway, she showed me the recipe part of the book that featured kitty patties. She wanted to try and make one for our own kitty cats.

Sometimes I wonder why I'm such a supportive mom. We don't have all the ingredients called for in the recipe. However, at times, I do enjoy experimenting in the kitchen. There I was gathering ingredients that we do have and putting them together for our own homemade version of kitty patties.

Voila! Raw patties waiting to be broiled. I used the convection oven to cook these patties. Each batch was cooked around ten minutes at 250 F. They have to be slightly raw too. The outcome wasn't perfect, but I've learned a thing or two in adjusting the recipe for next time. The cats ate them just the same.

There! He finally munches on his kitty patty. The patties didn't last long as the kitty cats gobbled them up. I should think about preparing more kitty patties for next time.
