Walk at the Royal Palace (A Visual Tour)

Have you ever wondered what the inside of a palace looks like? Well, I have! It is interesting to note that we got the chance to visit the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Visitors were allowed to take a peek, but no photos were allowed as the statues there were made of real gold.

The gate outside looks pretty ordinary. Who would have thought that the inside was really huge!

Lined up for tickets and inspection. They are strict with the dress code. On the right was a visual board showing what's allowed and what's not.

Look at that huge complex! We got a small version of this map that's given to every visitor of the place. They're now part of my travel journal.

A walkthrough this garden with lots of interesting statues on the side. We were ready for the long walks, making sure we were wearing the proper attire and walking shoes. That way, walking around would be a breeze.

I took a closer shot at one of the statues.

Here we posed at the complex before climbing up the stairs leading to the palace.

There it is! We climbed to the top and waited for our turn to take a peek at the inside. There's the throne where the king receives official visitors to the country.

That building at the back is the king's official residence. The blue flag is up that time, which means the king is in his residence.

Here's a view of the lovely garden. Such a lovely day in Cambodia that time. We just needed to stay under the shade all the time.

We were headed to the exit to go to the other buildings within the complex.

We were headed for the next building that has been converted to a museum. Visitors were allowed to enter and take photos there, so I will be sharing that next time around. Hope you enjoyed the brief tour.
