Walk to a Waterfall

I'm not going to pretend that all is well where I am. We're under an enhanced community quarantine. It gets more restrictive every day. There is so much uncertainty that it's probably enough to drive some folks crazy. But I won't focus on that. I have always believed that happiness is a state of mind. If you want to be happy, think happy. Be happy.

Mom at Kabigan Falls

Let me share with you this happy memory of our 2017 Ilocos Adventure. That time, Mom joined us, as she has always wanted to visit the province of Ilocos. This trip was our advanced birthday gift for her 75th birthday.

We went to a number of places in Ilocos, but I picked this particular walk as whether you believe it or not, Mom was able to join us in our trek to see Kabigan Falls. That was around 1.5kms walk. We found it amazing!

It must have helped that this was later in the afternoon and that it was not too hot anymore. Plus the trek has a lot of scenic views.

3.jpg

The walk may seem long, but it was fairly easy. At least, Mom got to enjoy it and did not seem to be bothered by the long walk.

4.jpg

Nice tiny creek by the side of the road. For me, this trek was easy compared to the one we experienced in Sagada.

5.jpg

Perhaps it also helped that we hired a tour guide. I suppose Mom had asked her a lot of questions that she willingly answered. This chit chat was perhaps the trick that Mom did not notice the long walk. She seemed to have enjoyed it all.

6.jpg

I zoomed my camera as we were nearing the waterfall. We needed to get closer and climb this wooden hanging bridge.

7.jpg

There it was, just a few more steps and soon, we will enjoy the view by the waterfall.

8.jpg

This was the bridge leading to that other bridge above.

There we are! The guide took this photo of us ladies who decided to enjoy the long walk to see Kabigan Falls. See, Mom was even waving to the camera. LOL! Those were happy times. I'm truly smiling now as I'm writing this. ^_^

See you next time for more #WednesdayWalk. Happy midweek!
