Breaking the Cycle: How My Childhood Shaped My Parenting Choices
while growing up as a kid didn't had any idea about parenting and why there's limit of this and restrictions.
getting lessons from parents and all that parenting was fine at their place but also there were some situations needed to be eliminated from parenting. I realized later that I won't do these Things with my kids.
So, I ain't a parent but somehow my childhood had shaped parenting choices which is something to discuss ahead in this.
Strict Parenting Break Confidence of Child
When it comes to strict parenting Asians are someone who can relate with it. Back then as a kid some pointless strictness or restrictions break my whole confidence.
It is in child nature to be curious and show interest for new things he see's everyday. So, let him try it instead of pushing back.
The worst part of strict parenting was when you're visiting as a guest in relative place, they bring some snack but when it turns to take one that stare from mom says "No, don't even dare to touch it" and reply guest; he get to eat this at home.
Imagine, from parenting it is creating a mindset of thinking "What others will say or think" if I did the right thing. These kind of little things had effected my confidence a lot. So, going to end this kind of strict parenting.
Parents always want Good for their child there's no doubt in it but every kid has own preference and choices. in some situations like choosing a career.
Choosing a career is like giving your life a new direction but parents put pressure to choose what they want.
In here most of childs future career is already decided on their birthday. So, after growing up when it's time to choose a career that pressure from parents ain't Good for future that's why I won't do this thing with my child instead I'll give them choice to make decision wisely whatever fits their interest.
My parents used to compare me with other siblings. In my achievements or not meeting their expectations which was already discouraging and becomes even more when they make comparison.
For them, comparison was to make me do better but I believe getting praised by parent's is what gives you more confidence to do more better for Good results.
So, this is one of thing I want to break this cycle and appreciate kids for what they've done good to perform more better in future.
Wrapping up...
In the end, my parents was Good at their place and did parenting at it's best. With time from one generation to another each and every parent change few of things to make sure their child is growing up as a Good human.
We make changes and every generation will always break the cycle by bringing new changes to make their kids parenting better than it was for them.

I do have some points although not sure I can explain properly...
hmmm...
My parents I realised don't like me atall for who I am?... so I think as parent you should try to like the person your child is rather than keep your child because you gave birth ad its your responsibility...
Just saying... else, feels like there is no love, just flesh and blood pocessiveness...
Second...
Communite and spend quality time with kids...
My parents never connected at a emotional level with me... like tell them stories, jokes, find out about your kids, don't be blind on them...
Else its boring... also talk to them about life, than overprotecting and shielding them...else they won't learn and grow up!!
Talk positive things...
My family told so many negative things about me...even much as a adult, it only validates that they never have good opinion on me...
So, cut that out and most of our perspective maybe having errors of judgement!!
Teach your kids values, need for dicipline and responsibility...
This is important... build a trustful bond as well... let kids do tasks by themselves, give them tasks, teach them to do activities so they develope hobbies that will occupy their mind...
In my case, nothing, parents never bothered about diciplining me, like exercise, meditate, get up early, focus on this activity... no patience...
So I was always having a idil mind and was never occupied by creative or productive thoughts...
Also..cut off technology time, and let your kids spend time with nature, do some outdoor activities and let them read books, or atleast listen to audio books...
I wish my parents rather cut than idiot box and told me to read books instead, its the most amazing way to spend time...
Anyway...Happy parenting... I only have 2 cats as kids... so can't give practive suggestions...
Also don't stress kids... make them understand their own emotions and the need to handle themselves...healthy open communication with understanding without judgement is required I think... atleast don't hurt them pointing out their faults because they are too young, instead let them understand their weakness themselves and work with them to correct it.
It's a slow and gradual process, we need a lot of patience.
Lastly just make sure your kids are happy, feeling loved and doing activities they are passionate about...
Anyway...

I'm guilty here... Mom always used to tell me not useee mobile and spend time going out play with friends but I didn't listened and now I know it's value...
