LeoFinance Roars Even In Crypto-Winter (Developments in the LeoVerse)

There had been several updates and teasers by Khal of the things and upgrades or features coming into the LeoVerse. It is exciting to see how this ecosystem keeps striding along even during this bear market where others are breaking and crumbling down.

Was also glad to learn that LeoFinance has prepared for a long runway (per Khal's thread, where he mentioned to have operating capital of 3-4 years). I would like to believe that there is no slowing down in this space and they will keep building.

And here are the things they are working on based on a series of updates released:

New User Interface

(The Everything App)

We have been hearing or reading about ProjectBlank for sometime now and while we were expecting to see what it was, we recently learned that it is LeoFinance after all.

So instead of creating a separate app, they have now made some changes, hence they are building a new UI from scratch which Khal mentions to be focused very, very intensely on threads or short-form contents/microblogging. This is so because Khal believes that short-form contents or Twitter-like front-end is the way to grow. And here's to quote him on his own words:

I think that onboarding people and having a user experience that is identical or very similar to Twitter is the key to grow. So if we can onboard people by giving them a Twitter-like experience on the front-end and incorporating the long-form blog post into that experience, I think we can really 10x or 100x our monthly active users. Some people are into long-form contents and others prefer microblogging so having both of these on LeoFinance will make a cohesive experience for users and may even blow up the active user count in the next year or so.

Smart Contract for LeoAds Revenue

Per the update weeks ago, the LEO dev team is working on smart contracts to automate the process of distributing Leo Power to those who have staked LEO.

If you have been around the den for a while, you would have read or heard about this. It is said that the LeoAds revenue have been built and keeps growing so whilst they are creating the smart contract for the distribution, it is good to keep stacking up LEO and staking them if you wish to have a lion's share from the revenues.

As to when the smart contracts will be ready, only the team knows.

On the DeFi Side

  • Variable Staking of CUB

According to teasers, the Cub Kingdom will be replaced by new vault where variable staking will be introduced making some CUB illiquid by various locking periods ranging from 1 week to 52 weeks. Stakeholders will have the option to either keep their CUB liquid or lock them up for higher APYs.

It will be interesting to see how many will keep wielding their diamond paws and choose to lock their CUB holdings when the vault will go live.

  • Deepen Liquidity for HBD and HIVE on BSC

The introduction of HIVE and HBD derivatives on the BSC network via CubFinance opened a new market for these Hive assets. And this inspired a change in the direction of CUB leaning more towards deepening liquidity for both HIVE and HBD.

And among the interesting plans that they believe to help in deepening the HIVE and HBD liquidity are the following:

  • HIVE and HBD Bonds via CubFinance

Another opportunity will come for HIVE and HBD when this will roll out on CubFinance. It will be great to be able to stake each of this assets without any pair (single-staking) since they will not be exposed to any impermanent loss.

Accordingly, this will have to be tested first through CUB. If it goes well then this will roll out too.

I first read (and heard) the idea of Hive bonds from TM. Whilst I didn't fully grasp the potential, I did wonder if it will have a chance to happen here on Hive. But now, it looks like LeoFinance is taking the that idea to the next level.

LeoFinance is navigating the crypto-winter gracefully, being more focused on developing and building things that will benefit not only the Leo ecosystem but Hive and the community as well.

Are you excited yet? I am.

These are for infotainment only. I stand corrected for any ideas or opinions contained in this publication. TIA
